I almost deleted this thread because I thought you were doing one of those free pyramid scheme things, but you're not so it's ok.

No, the cheapest ones are usually on higher tariffs. I did get sent this one through my e-mail though if you want to try it out - £35/month but after cashback it works out to £332.50 over the year and you get a XBox 360. Anyway, you're welcome to check it out:

I'm not a fan of Motorolas in general but the L6 apparently is quite a nice handset.

As a sidenote, it also has the highest SAR radiation levels...in the 1900MHz band anyways...

Yes, I saw that too but I wouldn't read too much into SAR values because no-one really seems to know what is a good and bad level. For all we know, any phone use is bad or we were way too paranoid and could have phones outputting 10 times the power (improved signal) and still be safe? No-one's really sure, the current limit seems to be pretty arbitrary.

Still, I thought it was worth mentioning...

You guys are so lucky! I didn't think you could get gifts for signing up on a plan...although you guys do pay significantly more than we do:o

OSPS are reputable - they are part of the CPW Group. If you have a problem with your phone, you can take it to CPW to get it fixed (this is extremely helpful).

This "giveing away things for free" seems to be the latest ploy by the networks to get you to join them. Look in the back of any daily newspaper, and you will find such things as a free 2nd phone, to a Sony PSP and even 17" LCD televisions.

The same types you see on watchdog every week - will use this link as a part of CPW if they stiff you - at least you have some comeback/leverage...

Sean - cheers but did read thread hence my question about any others - thanks though

Like the old saying goes. If it looks to good to be true, then it probably is.....

Saying that just gave them a call - as long as you take an L6 (which I won't even open the box) you get 12mnth contract £5 per month 02 250 - £84 cashback month 1-4 8-12 and of course the xbox 360.

As the company are a CPW affiliate doubt I'd be stiffed like the rest of the deals in back of tabloids...

If I took a K750i it'd be £20 more and an 18 month contract...which is pointless given the cost difference...

Going to go ahead with this and report back when/if I receive all the promised bits...

These things aren't 'free' at all. When you consider you can get the L6 for 12 months free line rental on a 12 month contract, XBox 360 is not worth £332.50. For the 'free' 17" LCD TV you'd be paying £540 over the year, and again the phone would otherwise be on a 12 month free contract. It's just a marketing gimmick. Personally, I'd take the cashback and choose what to do with that myself (I got the K750i I have on 12 months free).

Yes mate but I use around 250voice minutes a month and always over 200 SMS - on VF similar deal would be £30ish a month if not more. Granted you get a better phone but I'd be flogging it anyway as doubt I'd get the spec of the ones I normally buy use for a fortnight then sell...

£35x12months = £420

Then:
£85 cashback
XBox 360 core = £209.99 saving
L6 - sell for £60- boxed
Total - £354.99

Subtract that from total line rental

Complete outlay for 12 months contract - £65.01....

Now I'm no scientitst but 12 months of 200 text and 250 voice works out at £5.41 a month....

Got to buy a replacment core system anyway and last thing I need is an L6 so flogging that...

I'm a happy shopper - may not be for some but under £6 a month ain't bad and I get to keep my number....
