Hi all,

Does anyone know if T-Mobile UK will issue an unlock code for a pay-as-you-go phone? If so, are there any conditions to this and do they charge a fee?

Apologies if this thread is in the wrong place.

Depends on what make the phone is. You don;t need to use the network to unlock the phone as you can get my phones unlocked yourself and sometimes for free.

The Nokia 6131. Apparently its a BB5 phone which means only the network can unlock it at the moment - apparently!!

Yes it is a BB5 phone and can only be unlocked by the network but at their descretion, they will no doubt charge you far to much to do it.

just got off the phone with T-Mobile so for anyone thats interested:

T-Mobile will issue an unlock code for any pay-as-you-talk mobile. It costs £15 will only be issued 30 days after your initial purchase of the phone. You must phone T-mobile to register the phone when you buy it otherwise they have no idea when to start the 30 day countdown from.

Hi there. Phone company the phone is locked to (I presume T-Mobile) and tell them that you want them to issue the SUBSIDY PIN for your phone. They will ask for the IMEI number and you need to have a credit/debit card so that they can take payment of £15.

You will receive a letter within 28 days of the phone call giving you the unlock code.

This is currently the only way to do an unlock on the 6131.

Get it done now so you can get it unlocked asap. I went to the Nokia store in Regent Street and they wont even have that phone in stock for another month so you can still get a few days of posing time out of it!! :D

A) Phone your network provider
B) I wouldn't post your IMEI on the internet for all to see.
