View Full Version : is there anyway i can make a phone work in u.s that's imported from other country?

i've looked at korean web site and they have really awesome looking phones. but my question is if i buy the phone from Korea and bring it here, is it possible to make it work? i've checked alredy but it doesn't say that if it's gsm or not(i have t-mobile phone right now). can anybody answer my question?

No,It won't work.The phone in which korean and T-Mobile are completely different.I mean the network that they use is completely different

I want some japan phones as well.Lol...But yeah only japan can use them:)

Although Im happy with the range of new GSm mobiles in hong kong:)

Know that feeling - after using a few Korean devices with sat tv and DVB I was left drooling....it is a shame it won't work or I'd have imported a load myself...just a shame the european operators are still so far behind...

Korean phones are CDMA based. You could get them to work on Verizon with the basic functionality, but that is about it.

Even then, if your area uses 1900MHz, then it won't get any service at all...you'd need to be in an 800MHz area:cool:
