Yes........and no. I haven't seen any clips, so it may be the same, but the actual picture quality may not be the same seeing as the N93 has the superior lens.

what is the frame rate of the 6280? if it is the same, and as mentioned above same picture quality, then it will be the same... but then should we start talking about effective video pixels, program exposures, white balance, shutter speed...

hmm

I have a video sample of n90 and a 6280

t seems the only difference is...the 6280 has really large resolution

but aside from that

none of them "chugs" so I guess it could also be 30fps?

and 6280 is alot cheaper now hehehe

hmm

if the video is really good If only someone could give us a feedback ey?

hehehe

I might go out and get myself a unit hehehe

thanks for your reply sirs btw :D

I think you mis-understood, he was refering to the n93 not the n90.

N93 will be the first to have optical zoom and 30fps.

6280 only achieved 15fps at VGA resolution.

Yet N80 only does 352*288, probably not even at 30 fps. :(

15fps is smooth for a mobile, before these new smartphones came out, 8-10fps was considered the norm. 30fps is the same as TVs and DVDs display at. Anything much above 30fps is almost imperceptible. 15fps is very adequate for phone use.

Not directly related, but I thought this article was intresting on what humans can see as "smooth" in regards to fps:

Sorry to switch gears a bit, but my w900i runs at 30 FPS, which was a surprise to me as when i researched the phone i must have not read that part of the review. I have to say that playback of the videos from the phone itself or on a TV is great for a mobile device. Very fluid though i imagine the upgraded lens and megapix count on the n93 will much improve clarity over the w900.

we'll just have to wait and see...

Nokia probably just didnt think an upgrade past 30 FPS was necessary and cost-effective. However nokia did quote "DVD quality" playback... they could have done something to reinforce that statement besides offering very sweet, but not revolutionary video features.

that article is extremely interesting, by the way. covers alot of misconceptions about how our mind interprets clarity.

keepitclean, the difference will be that n93 will be VGA resolution, w900 is nothing close to that.

Having had the N90 now for a few days and also played around with my other digital cameras I am now in the mind that QVGA or above with at least 15fps is the minimum I'd settle for to be watchable. VGA is definitely a nice improvement as is 30fps but I'm not sure the size increase (storage) is worth it. My Fuji S7000 can record VGA at 30fps but uses up 1Mbyte/s, and N93 uses 3.2Mbit/s which is 400kbit/s, still far too high for the compression method used if you ask me.
