the flip you are talking about is a clamshell, the ericsson T-39, T-28 etc is a flip...

Before, perhaps, but now that those flips no longer exist, the term flip or flip-phone is now considered the same as clamshell...however much of a misnomer it is:o

But yeah I like flip-phone/clamshell and/or transformer in general, but since there are no awesome clamshell S60s that're pocketable much less affordable, I'm stuck with candybars:o

Yeah, I decided not to include that type of flip (flip down) anymore to reduce confusion...Although it does, sort of still exist, e.g. the S.E. Pxxx series

flip up, as cct said, is sort of synonymous with clamshell.

As for me, I voted transformer. Its so versatile, looks great when your twisting it and it changes into something else, video cam mode, laptop mode, phone mode, closed mode :D (And if chokia's design concept is remembered, PDA mode;))

And unless one is hobbits descendant then perhaps 107.4 x 58.2 x 24mm is not pocketable.

He's so cool...

 haha lol:p

Seriously - in some baggy jeans theyre go in comfortably...but for most people, if they can get it in, the N93 will look like some unsightly bulge.

There's a teeny little filipino nurse at work and she manages to hide her P910i very well. So that type of pocket (Health care tunics) its fine:)

lol, Chokia, its a moto now huh:p

I'm quite surprised transformer is winning the poll (although 50% of 10 votes doesn't inspire confidence) I thought everyone would be going for generic flip/clamshell.

Well with people like Chokia showing ultimately its potential (and imo its utter coolness - like how can you not be wowed with one device that literally transforms into many other devices!), then I guess its not so much of a surprise.

Why is it now Motorola???

I realize the N90 and such are still pocketable, but I guess the word I should've used is petite...one that isn't all the much bigger than an average clamshell:cool:

I have seen this transformer as well, an interesting concept and a neat idea for watching tv/movies. Shame that more than likely Sharp will mess it up with their own UI and keep it limited to Vodafone

I would like to vote in this poll but I don't think I'm qualified... having only owned one phone (my darling 1100)!
