Hi - having a problem with my 2nd line.....work line

Upgraded from my 6230 to a 6021 (no sarcasm please its a business tool) copied all my contact to sim and put in the 6021 - worked fine for a few weeks now when some people call me it comes up with the number rather than the contact that is clearly stored within the sim memory ? some contacts have also vanished yet they are recognised in the 6230 which has no internal contacts (i.e. reads off the sim in both phones)

Not had this problem with any other phones while swapping to and fro - any ideas peeps ?

Sounds like the SIM card memory has been corrupted. Numbers appear instead of names when there is a duplicate conflict. Try and request a new SIM card or failing that, copy all SIM contacts to phone and wipe the SIM clean and start again. It's never a good idea to store all the numbers on the SIM anyway, because it's slower and has a reduced memory pool. Also you get less characters for names and only one number per name.

But considering the options, wouldn't saving them on the SIM be the lesser of the two evils in comparison to saving them on volatile phone memory? I've never had good reliability with phone memory with S60 so you can understand my hesistation:o

Indeed - reckon its a corrupted sim too - going to replace today and will let you know how goes....

Odd one though !!!
