hi

I just bought a Nokia 6021 to use just for GPRS internet access. My friend had a Mobile Action MA-8620E cable which she was using with her 6100. I checked on the MA website and the cable is listed as compatible with my 6021. I downloaded the lastest software and drivers from the MA website for the 6021 and installed them.

The trouble is after it connects to my laptop I get the two messages "Data enhancement connected " and "Enhancement not supported" alternating continually whilst connected. I can still open web pages and the connection appears to be working normally although it's hard to know whether this is affecting the data throughput.

Does anybody have any experience with this cable and phone combination. I prefer to use the MA cable because it charges the phone unlike the CA-42.

Any comments?

Try a different USB port. If it's charging the phone from the USB port it might be overloading it (especially on a laptop, which sometimes don't offer high-powered USB) which could be why it is rapidly disconnecting and connecting like that. Normally it would kill the link if it was completely disconnected but it is possible that this is a phone issue and the PC believes it is still connected. You have to wonder why Nokia didn't make their cables charge the phones though don't you?

Thanks for the sugestion. I was using it in a powered hub so I tried a direct connection to my laptop but I still get the same problem.

Do you think it could be a damaged or faulty cable? Next week I'll have an opportunity to get a CA-42 so might solve this issue.

My Bluetooth adapter is a pcmia type and when I use it I can't have my pcmia Audigy sound card installed which is why I prefer the cable connection.
