This is awesome news. I dont really see one coming to Boston soon, but maybe these flagship stores will offer an online order option. Personally, I have a hardon for for E70. The BB style one is nice too - but it really depends on the screen.
Nokia's high-end phones will be available from the electronics makers retail locations across the United States.
All the hot new handsets that you've been hearing about, from the N91 4GB musicphone to the UMTS-enabled N80 smartphone should be there for the buying when the flagship store opens up in Chicago on June 21. "Virtually anything that could possibly be available in this market will be there," said Nokia spokesman Keith Nowak.
More locations are expected, including a New York location before the end of the year.

Mate the E70 has a wonderful screen, used promo and near final examples and it matches an 8800 for brightness then add serious resolution.. Build is firm and it looks awesome....
E61 also a great device - bit more text centric though I'd plump for the E70 anyday....

Nokia is Really Coming To America
Looks like Nokia's direct to consumer blitz that is taking of so well in Europe is finally coming to America with a Flaghsip store opening up in Chicago on June 21st and a fifth avenue store opening up in New York City sometime before the end of the year. Both stores will sell phones not available directly through US carriers.
But that does not mean that you will be able to by an N70 phone here in the states before it becomes available in American formats. The stores will sell Nokia's full North American product lines , including high-end phones like Nokia's N93, N91, N73, and the wi-fi enabled N80.
..... so this means that Nokia will sell phones that's not sold by the carriers yet, but at the same time, they will only sell phones made for North Am only? In other words, you can get the 6230b but not the 6230? Or you can get the 6682 but not the 6680?
cheers!

UGH of course it'd be too good to be true!!

I think so...
... coz sometimes, nokia comes out with phones that are meant "for the asian markets" only, right?
but still, I think that this move to put up stores is good... at least, people wont have to buy phones from the carriers (which is almost always locked to them), they can now buy phones directly from nokia.
cheers!
