hahahaha sucks to be my Sprint friends:p
It's obviously an asset to parents, but for teenagers, it's the guillotine, if you know what I mean:rolleyes:
I mean, yeah, you could turn the phone off, but then that would make it too obvious to mom and dad that you're trying to hide your location...

For all the kids out there who have parents that are sick enough to think they really need to know everything their kids do. Just turn on call forwarding to a friends phone and turn your phone off.

For all the kids out there who have parents that are sick enough to think they really need to know everything their kids do. Just turn on call forwarding to a friends phone and turn your phone off. That would have absolutely no effect at all. The system isn't placing a call, it is accessing the GPS system in the device. The only away to get around it would be to not allow the device to be signed up in the first place, or to turn off the phone.
Though perhaps the setting that lets you disable the broadcast of your GPS location to other apps/services might work, though I imagine that is only for future 3rd party type deals, and not the Sprint provided Family Locator service.

Sick? I think with younger kids, maybe not 14+ but under that, it's good if they're parents can no where they are, especially with the more 'rebellious' types.

do u think forwarding calls is going to help with the gps chip in the handset?? i dont. Does nebody else see how big of a problem this service is going to be soon, people r going to find out ways to disable it like how they do with their mercedes bc they get caught cheating on their spouses. This is the start of something very bad.... think about you boss using this all the time....

Can't you just turn on the GPS receiver? That's easy enough...

He will only be able to use it if you have a company phone, and outside of working hours you can just turn it off.
