Nokia, in collaboration with ENOAT Cellular, authorised distributors of Nokia mobile phones in Ghana, at a ceremony, in Accra has launched an ultra -modern servicing and competency centre located at Osu.
The ultra-modern equipment is capable of servicing and repairing Nokia handsets which is subject to Nokia’s stringent requirements of quality.
The General Manager, Customer and Market Operations of Nokia, in charge of North West Africa, Mr Jarmo Santala, said that Nokia had been working with Classic Cellular over the past few years, to assist Nokia in “connecting people” in Ghana.
He stated that Nokia was committed to providing the highest quality of customer care which it demonstrated by establishing an office in South Africa.
“Nokia is working on customising handsets to cater specifically for the needs of its customers in each region and country,” he added.
The Representative of Classic Cellular, Mr Herbert Mensah applauded Nokia for its involvement and commitment to Africa.
“The opening of Classic House and what it embodies for the people of Ghana and the sub-regions is an achievement that cannot be underestimated. Until about two years ago, Africa did not exist as far as Nokia is concerned,” he said.
The Deputy Minister of Communication, Dr Aggrey Ntim, has called on the private sector to help develop the telecommunication sector.
He commended Nokia for coming out with the brilliant idea of establishing the Classic Cellular Centre.
The Customer Care Manager of Nokia in West Africa, Mr Sheriff Barakat, said Nokia’s approach was to develop local service partners, especially in a strategic market such as Ghana, adding that, “In 2005, Nokia appointed ENOAT Cellular as an authorised service partner in Ghana , with its main centre of operation in Accra,” he said.
“Our customers in Ghana can now have their mobile phones repaired free of charge, in a very professional environment, during the Nokia warranty period of 12 months as long as it was purchased from an authorised dealer,” he added.
In a related development, Nokia has launched the Nokia 2006 L’amour Collections, which are the Nokia 7363, 7370 and 7380 at a short ceremony in Accra.
Launching the new products, the Area Manager for Ghana, Nigeria and Liberia, Mr Vitesh Reddy, said the new collections are a unique blend of fashion and personality.
He said the products are trendy and are meant for fashion-concious people.
