Im sure I saw it listed around a week ago and at that point wasnt sure what phone I wanted to get so thought nothing of it!
Ever since ive not seen it listed at all :(
Ive emailed them earlier today anyway so should hopefully get a reply about a release date/availability soon.

Yes the phone disappeared the day after I ordered one! Then I heard a rumour on another forum that all the handsets had been recalled by the manufacturer.
This is bad.
My order has not arrived yet but no attempt by O2 to contact me has been made.

These were on the web site for approx 10 days and presumably they have sold out of their original supply as they are in very short supply as are all the new motorola phones. The phone HAS NOT been pulled!! I got one sim free from my local o2 shop a couple of weeks ago and the phone is brilliant, it was the only one they had mind so I was extremely lucky. I would think that they will be back up on the web site soon and hopefully hitting the shops by the end of the month but they wont be in great supply so get one if you can. This has happened with a lot of the new phones lately, e700, x70 etc...but dont dismay the v600 is out there and worth the wait!:p
I think the original author of this thread 'tuck' has got his judging by other threads on this site.

Spoke to O2s upgrade(staff/retailers section) dept today, trying to get news on the V600, was told that all staff had been emailed deliveries suspended due to software problems, apparently reports of the phone switching off if flip opened during an incoming call??
Anyone experienced this? or any other news?
Okay, so here's the deal from a bona fide O2 call centre monkey.
The V600s were indeed out for a few days just after Christmas, as far as I am aware. People have bought them and I briefly played with one that had been purchased.
The phones software, as stated, has been experiencing problems and there is a recall out while the problem is fixed. Last I heard (Monday) there was no exact date for them being available again but Feburary was being suggested.

janu, so does this mean anyone who has ordered one from O2 over the last two weeks will not recieve a phone?
Why did they keep them on their website until 16th January?
Why did they accept my order and take my money?
Why me?
WHY!?
ja*l*u :-) Janu?! Bah :-)
(1) The phone was probably on the website because they didn't know there was a problem. Our engineers no doubt test phones pretty completely but if they missed something it would take a fair few customer complaints before it's fixed. It happened with the O2 X1, too.
(2) You're going to get a phone, I think (this is not an opinion endorsed by O2, just my personal opinion). Chances are you are on back order and will get them when they next go out - that's what has happened to customers I have dealt with that have ordered unavailable (for whatever reason) phones.
(3) Because you gave us money, that's why :-)
Good luck with it mate - I've seen and played with one and it probably is worth the wait.

i received my v600 from the o2 website last week, so far i have not experienced any problems but is there a chance that my v600 could have software problems that i am unaware of.

I emailed motorola a couple of days ago and have since had a reply and they state that they are not aware of any product recall on the v600. I have had a couple of small glitches with the phone but no more than I have had with any other phone that I have had so no real problem to me. I think that those of us who managed to get one were just lucky to get one of the first batch! Like all new motorolas they are in short supply...keeps the value and price up though doesnt it!!!

Here is an update on the latest O2.co.uk situatation direct from the 50p per minute customer "care" line.
Like many others I ordered my V600 from O2 last week (14th January). Apparently they were out of stock but my order was still taken and so was my money.
Today they "came back in stock" but they could not give me a firm date for delivery just saying the usual "within 7 days".
It seems there is a waiting list for this phone - and it would have been nice to know this before placing my order.
I am unable to find out how big the waiting list is, only that there are "lots of backlogged orders". If my order is not forefilled with the current delivery I might just give up.
i wouldnt hang about waiting for someone from o2 to reply, if they don't send u the infamous
"We have recently completed a network wide system improvement programme. as a result there has been delay in responding to your email. Due to the unexpected time this has taken, we hope that you have now managed to resolve your enquiry by telephone by using one of the following customer service telephone numbers."
email, no doubt some braindead illegal immigrant will reply being no help whatsoever... (no offence to the o2 monkey who posted above)... i've composed some rather humourous complaint emails after the shi* service i've received (won't go into details)... dont know how to attach photos on here but in one of my emails i said "this is what i think the desk contents at o2 would be" and attached picture of a desk with My First Computer, a bob the builder plastic phone, an abbacus and some crayons. they didnt reply...

just to let you all know the v600 is now back up online at o2.co.uk, the SE z600 is now also included in the online range of phones, which is nice.
Now, do i just buy the thing or hold off again to see if there are any problems?!?...

I don't buy from O2 as they don't have enough stock to forefill back orders never mind take new orders. You will be waiting over 2 weeks for your phone.
I am still waiting for mine, 2 weeks later. When I ordered they were "in stock" and on the website for another 2 days.
They took payment immediately and can't tell me when they can deliver.

well it arrived this morning at ~11 (mighty quick delivery!)
so far everything seems fine with it, not yet tried the BT headset yet and not really done that much but the audio quality and reception seems perfectly good to me.
screen is a light year away from my old 7650 quality wise, same goes for the camera as far as i can tell.

Does anyone know how to get java games or where to get java games that work with the motorola v600. I tried about 30 different java games and out of them only 2 worked but not even full screen - old version of stuntman and a pool game.
anywhere else apart from mototone.co.uk
i dont really want to pay for games.
i send them via bluetooth they install but then i get an application in most.
any ideas

May I join in the general rant about O2 please? I ordered the V600 13th April from O2 as an upgrade. They then cancelled my order as the phone was out of stock. A week later I rang again and was told it had now been withdrawn (various reasons given by various people - mostly blaming Motorola). I then ordered it sim-free from MobileFun as it was the only phone I wanted. I see now that O2 are still offering the V600 with a free headset to new customers. To add insult to injury they are now trying to charge me for the V600 upgrade - a phone I didn't receive, that O2 themselves cancelled and according to them a phone that they cannot supply. What a washout of a company!

yeh motos like v600 are pretty crap for installing jar files, even when i install them and try and open them it will say application error. u want a series 60 nokia they can support all jar's and even sis application files.
