Although the press release does not state China nor Hong Kong, i take it that the black T630 is available from those places?

very nice phone.... shame about what is inside though...
i think this is a ploy to take attention away from the soon to be released 6230

If you look at the photos of the screen (in Simplified Chinese characters), particularly the firmware, you will notice it is set for China. HK firmware has the word Hong Kong on it.
One interesting fact is that since the launch of the white T630 in HK last year, one of the mobile service providers has always listed black as a colour option in their brochure, but when asked they would say only available in white.

Note the word *QuickShare* on the white T630 is not in Italics.
(the word on my unit is in Italics - and slightly off-centre!)

Hey Sid, how is the review of the T630 coming? there is one less than adequate one at http://www.mobile-review.com/index-en.shtml - so I am eagerly awaiting the fair, well written dictum that I have become so used too since consulting your site.
Thanks in advance,
Andy

Very Very soon. I've got most of it ready, but I need time to finalise it and I've been working like crazy at my day job. :(
Esquire-- for how much can you purchase a t630 in hong kong? are you willing to do some negotiating? email me, if interested.

1. In HK, prices for a T630 vary between USD370 to USD410. Cheaper still if purchased through one's mobile phone company - amount varies pending on service purchased with the phone.
2. While prices vary from shop to shop, it is not usually subject to negotiations. No one would entertain any haggling, especially it is still regarded as new item and in hot demand - some shops can't even get enough of it in stock. You get the picture.
3. The warranty is not valid anywhere but in HK so if it breaks down .....
4. While there is no export tax to pay (HK is a free port), there will be import taxes.
I remember seeing the T630 on SE's US website so wouldn't it be more prudent to locate a unit where you are?
Did you get the black t630 in HK?
are they readily available?
