Does anyone know if this phone has interchangeable faceplates?
I searched all over the web and can't seem to find any...

Im the proud owner of one of these beautiful phones :D and i can confirm it doesnt have interchangable faceplates. My one is t-mobile and is in the colour blue, all the ones on the motorola website are also blue so i guess no other colous are available.
But dont let this put you off, this phone is seriously sweet. The camera quality tramples every sony ericsson out there (ok, minus the z1010 :p ) and so does the screen. That rubber on the outside doesnt do any harm either, i wouldnt think it scratches easily.

I recently found faceplates for this phone on Ebay for under $10!
They are solid colors only, but at least it's something.

Id be very dubious of that. The phone definately cannot have its faceplates easily changed.
The only way to do it would be to open up the phone (if thats even possible, i dont see any screws on the top half) and fit a new face.
I would be wary of ebay, theres alot of sharks out there

The faceplates on the v300 are very easy to change. Their are four screws, two above the screen and two below it, take those out and simply pop the cover off. Then work backwards to put the new one on. My brother just threw a black one onto his and it looks niiiice!!

haha!! its all gravy. A lot of those phones who faceplates are not supposed to be easily changed actually are. The Samsung e105 and even the e715 are easy to change too.

I bought two wicked plates from ebay...paid 2.98 for one and 1.98 for the other-I however ended up paying 9.90 for S&H a scam in my opinion, and total was 23 bucks CAN.
I frowned when I discovered that according to Motorola&Rogers Wireless branch/reps changing the face plates voids the warrantee...I'm waiting for a final decision, but according to pg. 94ish of their manual (the warrantee void itemization section) it actually won't void it...simply will void any repair SHOULD ANYTHING break AS A RESULT OF....but the seriously ingorant reps can't come up with a half assed conclusion....needless to say, I didn't want to risk it and I sold the two fullprice to the guy where I bought them from...as he's gonna do a whole battery of warrantee voiding invasive procedures on his damn unit-so he couldn't care less.
I really want to change the plates...but dammit for a 300 dollar phone which I paid 100 for hehehe (inside discount) I don't want to waste any potential back-up in case.
btw., who writes coding for flexing/flashing?
