View Full Version : 6630 Extra Resetting Questions
Hi i've looked around some forums for resetting 6630's but I just wanted to check a few things - I want to reset my phone because its a mess of apps some of them (eg MAME) didn't uninstall properly and for others i just cant be bothered to uninstall because its soo slow! Also It seems like the phone is leaking memory if I look at the DevMan graph, any reason for that?
I want to reset the phone and have it as it arrived with my networks settings etc. If I do a hard reset (after backing everything up :P) it will be ready to use straight away right? All I have to do is just restore contacts and reinstall the apps I want?
Also what do I do with the memory card? Most of the apps are installed there so can I just format it?

it might be leaking memory because you have previously installed apps that are running in the background.
A hard reset will normally just delete all the applications you installed on the phone, all contacts, all messages, calendar, notes etc...for a nice fresh start of restoring contacts and reinstalling apps.
Memory card: You don't really need to do anything with that. If you installed the apps onto the card, they would normally still work in a deep-reseted phone.
That's my experience anyway.

oh if you're going to do a hard reset... kindly take off the mem card first. There are a few cases - wherein the phone fried the mem card, after resetting. (some are posted here at MB, just search).... neway, just to be on the safe side, just take out the card first.
cheers!

I got the phone in August 2005, *#0000# gives: V 4.03.18 04-03-05 RM-1 and I soft-reset it quite frequently - memory goes back up after that. I think a hard reset would make it feel faster psychologically anyway :P
