Very interesting review.

The V600 appears to be extremely similar to the V525 / V500 with the main added extras of the flashing 'M' on the front and the video recording option.

Everything else that has been mentioned in the review sounds the same from what I can tell. This is not necessarily a bad thing - Moto's latest 'V' mobiles appear (and in the case of the V525 that I own are) excellent devices.

My experience of the call quality on the V525 is equally amazing. Calls do sound as if I am using a land line and signal strength in superb (in my local mall, where my P800 and a trial E200 smartphone struggle to get one bar of signal my V525 keeps almost full signal all of the time).

The only point of issue I have with the review is to do with the phone book. I have seen similar comments about separate entries needed for each contact for each different number and that seems to be true.

However you can set the phone book to show only the prefered number of each contact. If you want another number then you simply press left / right to select the next one in turn (you know what number you are on by the icon displayed). This is fine for me.

Tiger is aware that I have been considering giving my V525 back (I am still in my two week trial period) and getting a V600. However I am guessing the V600 is going to cost some money (I am a contract user so my V525 didn't cost anything) and the extras don't seen enough for me to spend some cash.

Well done Moto - a couple of excellent phones!

Thanks for that bit of information. I was actually not aware that you could do this. I did try it out and it is a bit more manageable, although I still think Motorola can learn a few things from other manufacturers about address books.

Its strange, the address books in the Accompli's was superb, in terms of menu and information stored. The A6i88 is over two years old now you think they could have reduced the price of that technology significantly and included it in newer phones.

Alee - I do understand what you mean. The phonebook is workable for me and I am not too unhappy with it. However it could be refined a little to maybe enable you to see all of the available numbers and choose which one to dial.

As it stands though it does work well enough I think.

TheRev - I had a quick web search for the Accompli A6i88 and couldn't come up with anything really obvious (not on Google anyway). Do you have any links that I can use to get a little background on that system? It sounds interesting.

whoops typo, Accompli A6188, it was the phone I used before the V525 (still got it my neice loves to use the drawing pad), it was a Touch Screen unit with Outlook Sync, pretty advanced for a few years ago. It had a great searchable Address book allowing all these settings on a single entry.

Note

Now thats an address book, the phone itself was about a third larger than the V525 and not much heavier.
