Guys, finally got a copy of the UK game, eagerly inserted it - endured the now cheesy load up screens started the first matcha nd found the real flaw in the PSP - the joypad.

Been pumping pennies into SF since high school days where nearly everyday my lunch money went into perfecting the double dragon punch and spinning pile driver....now finally get the most portable version ever and it's arcade perfect but the d-pad lets down and the analogie stick is to fiddly for some moves....

Seen this D-pad adapdter but it renders the carry case useless and invalidates your warranty ! dang.... There is even a butchers guide on fixing the problem which call me silly but I'm not opening it up and invaldiating the warranty http://blogcritics.org/archives/2006/03/09/010209.php

What can I do - spent 6+months waiting for a classic fighting game and if this is an issue what will Tekken be like when it finally lands....

Bought this game too and I agree I find it hard to pull of certain moves that I found easy on the console versions, which is a shame because the game is great and very much identical to the Arcarde/DC version.

Thankfully someone picked up a copy - it is a huge shame, mailed Capcom europe as it's a bit silly Japan gets a D-pad adapter and we have to stick to standard awkward analogue stick..

BTW - beaten M-bison with Ken or Ryu on the first attempt yet >? the cpu goes way over the top with special moves....if only I could actually get the moves out when I wanted.

Falcon if you find a workaround thats doesnt involve breaking open my PSP I'd be interested to hear it..

Cheers

hate the controls...cant even perform a desperate move perfectly..

Know its not an ideal solution but have you gone through the moves menu in the pause screen ? you can alocate L+R+Select buttones for certain moves e.g. fireball, dragon punch and special move which makes the game allot more interesting....

I can feel you frustration you are not alone - but Tekken comes soon and thats less D-pad heavy...

yeah..takken would be much better...atleast control-wise if not visual-wise.
however the race games area breeze on the psp.

2d fighting games have always been difficult with a D-pad, ever since SNES days.. Really need a good joystick for it.
