hi there,
for those using 3G now ... do you video call a lot?
cheers!
Hardly any time at all. Infact the the only time I've used it was to show someone else the technology. They hadn't seen one before so I demoed it.
Maybe if everyone used a headset then it wouldn't be so bad, but I just find the whole idea of holding the phone a few feet away from my face, with the loudspeaker on, to be strange. I find it hard enough to walk and talk never mind avoid obstacles with a phone blocking the view :)
I find it next to useless.

I use it loads as most of my family have gone over to 3 or a 3g network and I live using it. Have only used it outside once and felt like a right twat talking to the phone.
Give or take a couple of years and load more people will be video calling, these thing just take time to establish themselves.

My best friend has a 3G phone and most of my collegues do now, so I often use it, although so far its only been to my best friend. But I do get 25 Video calling anytime any network minutes in my calling plan each month, so I may as well use them, especially for when I use up the 150 voice minutes.

Daedalus, are you on Video Talk and Text 700? If you are what do you spend your free £5.00 a month on?

You can use a headset right when you're doing video call so your conversation isn't out in public?

I use a Bluetooth headset or a wired headset yes, but I still look like an idiot sometimes when I'm holding my phone at arms length talking to it, but most people know what it is now.
As for the tariff, you'd think I'm on that tariff but I'm actually on the VTT Online 950 tariff.
For £25 a month on a 12 month contract, each month I get:
150 any time any network voice minutes
25 minutes any time any network video minutes
1500 texts (for the first three months, 750 after that)
50 MMS (for the first three months, 25 after that)
£10.00 downloads (for the first three months, £5.00 after that)
and a free 6280 :)
Thats pretty damm cheap for £25 a month if you ask me ;)
Although T-Mobile's recently announced Flext tariffs almost seem to beat it, but their 18 months and I wont be going back to them again, cant remember why, but I remember having trouble with them last time.

I'm on VTT 700
Costs me £36 p/m +6 mths half price
500 anytime any network minutes
250 text
25 mins video call to any network
25 mms
£5 for 3 downloads
And a free 6280
Didn;t realise I would use so much talk time and text as I was/still am on t-mobile FT 750 and never used more then 100 mins but since I've gone to three I use shed loads of time. Plus the phone is f**king good when it doesn't crash out on me. Also the 6280 makes very clear video calls because of the 640x480 camera on the front, don;t know if it;s the camera reso or because its a good camera in general.

What really bugs me tho, is its a fairly good camera on the front, but you cant take pictures or videos with it :/

If your on about the camera on the front of the 6280 then I would love to know how to use it coz as far as I can see there is nothing in the manual about using it.

seriously you cant use the front vga cam for self portraits etc? so if you dont care for video callin it is pretty much useless?
