I have decided to purchase either the moto v300 or v500. I realise the only diff in that the v500 has bluetooth. For only £20 more this sounds a good option, although i am really not that sure about the advantages of this. Also i have read that the v500 does not have interchangeable covers. This may sound really innapropriate but i have seen diff, colour versions of the phone ?!?

I require the v300/v500 on O2 pay as you go tho i cannot find this anywhere. I have found the phones on both Orange and T-Mobile yet not O2? Can somebody help me please. thanks

you should be able to purchase the V525 (vodafone branded V500) in the UK from Vodafone, it isnt sim locked here in Australia.

Is there actually any differnece between the v500 and v525 apart from the v525 being exclusively on vodafone. I am desperately trying to find the v500 on 'O2 pay as you go'.

The V525 is only branded Vodafone, you can use it on any network. You can get rid of most of the Vodafone branding and web stuff and replace it with your own. By the way the V300 is only tri-band as well not quad band, so apart from the Bluetooth there are a couple of other changes.

The Vodafone logo on the front is painted on, but can be scraped of carefully with a razor and it looks much better, the one inside is just a sticker.

Unfortunately both phones are exclusive to other networks and are in short supply at the moment. The v500 hasnt even hit the shops yet! The v300 is exclusive to t-mobile and is only available in small numbers as yet. The v500 is exclusive to orange whilst the v525 is exclusive to vodafone! It seems that the only new v phone to be on O2 will be the v600 when it comes out (next month?) and I doubt it will be on PAYG although you will be able to get it sim free (for a price). You may strike lucky and get one of the others simfree or unlocked but think you will struggle.

Nowhere to get the v300 or v500 on O2? :(

I really dont know anything about getting a phone unlocked to any network. How do i? Does it cost? This might sound really stupid but i have no idea.

"The V525 is only branded Vodafone, you can use it on any network"

Why would it be branded vodafone, yet actually not? Is that what you meant? Or did you mean i would need to get it unlocked first?

The v525 will have voda all over it and a customised vodafone menu. To be honest, vodafone do not usually lock their contract phones but do usually lock their PAYG phones. Seems daft I know. Unlocking will usually cost anything between a tenner and twenty quid depending on who you go to (usually blokes on the market can do it) but as the phones are new you may struggle to find anyone who has an unlocking solution as yet. The best bet may be the networks direct but this will cost you more. As all these phones are new on the market my advice would be to wait a couple of months to see what happens and if more networks take up the phones as this often happens. Hope this has been of some use!
Cheers Simon.

It just has as has been said not been "locked" but it does have stickers and software menu items for Vodafone. Nothing to stop you buying it outright and sticking your own SIM card in it, this is what I did.
