I posted this to my blog earlier, I thought some of you might like it. I think the design of the Xbox 360 is a rip-off of the older Dell GX220.

we got those dell machines all over at RMIT here... now that you mention it it does look similar.

We got them at school, lol, didn't realise (we have them horizontally).

Yup - I thought for a sec it was a blue xbox 360

haha yea...we get new one's every two years in my school, and they really do look like the xbox 360...

mmm... quite the coincidence maybe? Maybe MS was inspired by the form factor of the Dell, but unless they have the same ports, color, design functions - then it's not really a rip-off just yet.

I was only referring to the design, not the internals.

My blog post was on the Digg front page, as well as Xbox360Fanboy.com, Nerd News Radio, and lots of smaller blogs - quite amazing since it was just a quick thought I had.

Lol - the use of the deisgn is a bit cheeky - reckon Dell will be going for some MS style rights ?

Yup, especially the black edition 360 that has been circulating the net. It looks almost exactly like the framework of a Dell desktop. Everyone steals from everyone.

Thats like saying every all-in-one computer s a rip off of the iMac. And the concept very well may be - but the question is, Who cares?

I find it amusing that this is still gaining so much traffic to my blog. Its still the third most popular article. I just want to be clear that I don't actually think that the Xbox designers sat down and actually ripped off Dell, but there are some striking similarities. Either way, I have a 360, and love it.
