because the start selling the pics on ebay, and say it in their possession.
i dont want people getting ripped.

...sexy!
i still want the black one though since i have the same N70 pictured above.
nd unfortunatly no, as they were both sold minutes after we took the images.Since the software isn't finished yet this phone is going to be pretty poor for the poor sole that bought it.
Should have taken some pics of the box, or at least the label on the phone to prove the non-proto claim. Otherwise there is no difference between these pics and mine (except that it mine switches on) ....

what is THAT thing that's showing in between the sliding parts? a lock or hinge or some sort?
I feel a wee bit uncomfortable about the 'largeness' of that gap. Same thing happened to my friend's 6270 - now it shimmies a little to the left and right, especially when opened. Definitely feels unsolid now.
I hope that nokia does something about the strength of their sliders...
It's a bit of a chunky monkey ain't it :) I still want one though

knowing it has all those funtions, i dont mind it's chunkiness. Besides, i'm using a SE W900i, so anything is smaller than that thing(mind you it's a great phone) :)

okay first of all, it doesnt take a genius to cut out the edges and still get the pic of the n80. do a bengalboy style on it. spread it over the entire picture and make it translucent. just suggesting.

maybe nokia did that so that they can use the black eyed peas song to advertise them.

Please dont remind me of that stupid stupid song.
Its bad enough I see that stupid Verizon commercial using that stupid song already.
Did I mention that song is stupid?
I cant believe someone is selling the N80 for 700 pounds

Let's just pray to god that the N80 is not a slow phone. I hope it's as fast as the 6630...atleast.

Why is it so damn fat !!! was waitign for the phone but think I'll skip it for a slim Nokia 9210i....
Nice scoop shots though !!! recent trip to UAE ?

I wish it was available int he UAE.
man the 6280 is not even out here yet. One store says March 15th, but that's too late cuz i'd rather get the N80 instead, then you got the K800 and the P990. i'm currently using the N70, so far so good.
a slim 9210i? that sound like a 9300i to me.

6280 still not in UAE  , Nokia just don't get it - if this phone was released in December it would have kicked ass, but now it is just ordinary!

exactly my point. 6270 been out for a long time in a limited release here(hard to find now), but the 6280 still doesnt exist here, i can't believe it's been out in the UK since November on 3(and some where in autria), but thats about it. i dont understand what's up with the availability of this phone, it's already out dated in terms if specs anyways, and camera leaves more to be desired(coming from N70, K750, W900).
I trust SE's dates more, they're far more accurate than Nokia's shady dates.

Sarcasm dude - it really is a chunky beast expected a real pocket sized powerhouse now it can be used for a pocket sock !!!

26mm - as thick as a 7650 - but complete volume wise I think I can live with it. Its something like 97.4cc right,
7650 is 138
and n70 is 95.9
Also since its a slider, it won't feel as thick when keypad is in use.
I think photos always make things look bigger than what they are, at least imo since when I use them they don't feel so huge.
26mm thickness is measured at the worst point, the camera end. At the pop port end its only about 22mm.

Would have to agree with you there Jose, for example when I first held a N70 I was surprised at how much smaller it was than I'd expected. I think the N80 will pleasantly surprise too.
And can't believe I've only just noticed, but nice to see another Welsh fellow here on the forums :D

Since the software isn't finished yet this phone is going to be pretty poor for the poor sole that bought it.Don't be so sure about that. The N80 supports FOTA, remember?
S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 introduces new features such as Firmware upgrade Over The Air (FOTA) and Push to talk over Cellular (PoC). FOTA enables software upgrades to be performed over the air, initiated by either the user or operator.

not related to N80, but over the air firmware upgrade is also available in the Sony Ericsson W900i
Don't be so sure about that. The N80 supports FOTA, remember? If he has the phone right now, then its a pre-release software and FOTA is definitely not working on it. Even if it was working it only works on part of the firmware not the whole flash, and the firmware would have to be a compatible version ... his is pre-release and hence wouldn't be compatible.
Also N80 is not FP1, there have been no FP1 phones announced yet.

i 2 couldnt find it in any of the malls in dubai when i was there, but the funny thing was that there were posters of the 6280 in some shops in cairo, egypt. and when i asked about the phone they said it should be out in mid feb, we're in march and there is still no sign of it.

6280 is a total mess up, it's release date and anticipation even surpasses the 6230!
