The XCute S50 is slim at 9mm only. It has a 3 megapixel CMOS camera, able to render the image to 6 megapixel high. The camera module can produce better image with the help of auto focus and flash module. S50 display screen is at 1.6 million colors, highest you can find in the market. Even though the body is thin, it can play video/music files, tv out connection and video recording. You can even expand the memory storage through microSD card. The S50 weight at 100g.

The second phone XCute DV 80 has a high class Sony CCD camera module. The 5 megapixel can further extend to 8 megapixel through software rendering, but I guess most people will do fine with 5 megapixel resolution. Same as XCute S50, it has a 1.6 million colors screen, bluetooth, miniSD slot and include most of the S50 features. The phone will be available in May 2006.

Lastly the DV 50 is a 5 megapixel CMO camera phone. All the DV 80 features are included in this design but DV 50 is only 100g while DV 80 gets a 135g body. DV 50 is planned to be released in May this year.

That should read 16 million color screen, not 1.6.

I like the S50, that thing seems almost impossible, yet they've done it. Its thinner than the L6/L7 etc but it pisses over every camera phone on the UK market at the moment. Although I guess we'll have to wait and see the real photos from its camera before we pass judgement.

oh yeah.... I remember you mentioning something that's not right, about your phone's construction and build quality.

yup, let's hope that on this batch, they've improved the build somehow.

cheers!

I have actually never used an xCute phone (shock!), but I would be really interested to have a play with the UI. I have felt a couple, and I would agree that they feel a bit plasticy.
