MS has nothing to do with the cost or the manufacturing of phones - only the price they license their mobile OS.

So, for him to make that assumption - unless MS decides to actually make the phones themselves, is ridiculous.

Ask Nokia, Moto and SE what they think of that statement, and whether they back it up or not.

If prices drop because of feirce competition thats another thing - maybe he is predicting competition because his mobile OS will be on more phones by then, and by more companies.

But then again - who cares? The phone has to actually attract attention itself with design and tactile function - its not just about the OS is.

Dont get me wrong, Im a windows user, but thats a silly comment to make. Especially from a company like MS who, in the early 90s never mentioned the internet as a technology, but bragged about CDs are being a superior storage format.

"No one will ever need more than 1MB of memory"...... look w here we are now. MS needs to keep the revelations to themselves, then, perhaps later on say" I told you!"

Well...the N-Gage was already $100. I can't see why a smartphone can't that's actually meant to be a budget phone...

Serious? Who said that?

I think it is a fair assumption based on the general trend of technology that mainstream devices generally reduce in price. I think it is slightly unfair if MS are trying to take the credit for it.

Perhaps he was just talking about the general trend of reduced pricing.
