To be blunt, you would be a fool to switch from a 6630 to a 6260. Yes I understand the form factor is pretty cool, but the 6630 offers you so much more! The megapixel camera is only second to the S700i in its class, and the MP3 player in the 6260 is only mono as compared to the 6630 in stereo. The only thing you would gain from the 6260 besides bulk is the FM radio, which I hardly think is worth the trouble.

If you want an S60 flip-phone, wait for the N71;)

aside from what cct mentioned, the 6260 is SLOWER than the 6630 you have now... you might just end up frustrated at having to wait for the phone all the time.

then like the n-gage and SX-1, you cant assign your memory card to be your main text storage area. You have to use special software to do so.

the hinges also loosens up over a few months... you have to have the casing removed and changed, for you to enjoy the phone 'snapping into place' again.

cheers!

If you really want the 6260 go get it.

Its about £70-90 second hand - not bad - if its just gonna be a spare/backup.

If its going to be your "new" main phone then as fore mentioned you will get peeved at the speed/cam (being a 6630 user)

Yeah I could not believe how slow my friend's 6260 was...even slower than my 3650 or N-Gage!

Stick with your 6630, or upgrade to an Nseries phone...at least with the latter, there's a good reason it's slower:cool:

yup, sad really... but it was really slow. Just browsing the phonebook (of a sim with 148 contacts), the 6260 is slower than both a 6600 and 7610.

cheers!

I'm really not kidding you...I don't wanna say anything to my friend, but it's AGONIZINGLY slow!

hmm - was that with or without apps.

My friend doesn't have anything running in the background and it doesn't seem slow to me. Maybe your friend has lots of stuff running, slowing it down.

Nope I checked with the task manager and there was nothing running, and it was still AGONIZINGLY slow...

Even his sister's 7610 is a bit slow for me, although I suppose I just expect more out of that phone than my own 3650 or N-Gage:cool:

the 6600 was faster than the 3650, edit: removed same sentence 7610 was faster than the 6600.

6260 seemed the same speed as the 6600

In raw CPU terms:

220Mhz: 6630, 6680, N-seres
120Mhz: 6670, 7610, 6260
104Mhz: 6600, 3650, 7650, N-Gage, etc.

But yes, the 6260 is very slow and I don't know why, maybe it was because I, myself went from a 6630 (cos I couldn't unlock it) to a 6260.

I have sold 4-5 nokia 6260 mobiles. Each and everyone of them had software problems and required a firmware upgrade. One was worse.Couldn't read mmc card! They had to replace some part inside the mobile

Nokia 6260 and Nokia 6670 is the slowest to boot up.As they were the very first symbian versions.Improvement of booting up was noticed with nokia 6630 onwards

That just isn't true - 6260 and 6670 weren't the first Symbian versions (unless you mean of Symbian 7, where the 6600 was in fact the first one of those anyway). Nokia 6670 is based on 7610 hardware for a start. The reason 6630 was so much faster was because it had a 100Mhz clock speed advantage over the older generation of phones.

and a newer symbian version also ( on the 6630)
