P800 P900 NOT Bluetooth Car Compliant!

Beware if you buy a car with built-in bluetooth, as the P800 and P900 will not, I repeat WILL NOT work with your car. There is no 'handsfree' profile on these phones. Sucks.

Still, I want a phone with a handsfree profile that I can actually write on. I liked it except for that one huge mistake on their part.

If you want to help, please go to sonyericsson.com and enter their support site by clicking 'contact us' and complain about there not being a 'handsfree' profile.... I'd really appreciate it!

Handsfree is another thing altogether.

Kinda weird if SE were to release a BT car kit and not have it work with their top-of-the-line phones.

The only Car Kit Pxxx will work with is SE's own (HBC-30 or whatever it is called) since this supports both headset and handsfree profile.

At first I thought you were referring to the Bluetooth Car, as in, the little car that you control by bluetooth! It's SO much fun, I'd recommend it!

Nope, just referring to cars with built-in bluetooth - it really does suck that sony ericsson won't upgrade their p800/p900 handsets to include the handsfree profile - it's a total scam, if you ask me...

The HBC-30 costs a bloody fortune!

Think I'll stick with using a BT headset and save the money for a 128 MB MS Duo and spare batteries and chargers. Seems GPRS use tends to eat up the battery realy quick :)

yep, it's just another way for Sony Ericsson to make a FORTUNE off its users.... still, there's no reason to not have a handsfree profile on this phone but have one on other cheaper phones... argh!
