I recently bought a plantronics M3000 headset for my Nokia 6600 phone on the premise that there is an automatic disconnect after 30's of non-usage (the little headset icon disappears) and an automatic reconnect (the little headset icon reappears) with the press of the talk button on the headset. Since Nokia does not have this feature built into the phone, like my ericsson, I bought the plantronics because it has the built in battery save mode on the headset.

So far the reconnect works brilliantly, but it fails to disconnect at all after the 30's time limit. Has anyone ran into this problem with their plantronics or HDW-2 heaset, seeing that it probably has similar features? Do I have to reconfigure somewhere on my phone so this does happen?

Actually on Nokia phones, I think you can only turn bluetooth on or off. There is no automatic mode like on SEs or Ericssons phones.

When the little headset is shown on the Nokia phone, there is an active connection which drains the battery of the headset and phone. The headset should have an automatic disconnect on it, which will help save battery life. I know that on my ericsson phone, when set on automatic mode, once the phone call has ended it disconnect the bluetooth. When you make a call or there is a call coming in, you just press a button and the headset reconnects to the phone.

Again, since Nokia doesn't seem to have this automatic feature, the plantronics has an automatic disconnect and reconnect mode. I just can't get it to disconnect. I can manually turn off the connection and then reconnect by pressing the talk button on the headset.

I just want to find out how so I don' t have to manually disconnect all the time. It's a pain especially when driving.
