motorola e550

I have downloaded the driver for the usb lead for the 550e motorola phone but when i connect it,i DO get windows(xp)telling me it is recognised and that i need the software,but the software that came with the lead will not work.I have tried getting a driver off the internet,i did and it will not work either.Basically the lead must be ok because when i connect it windows does recognise it.I have tried software off the net was no good either.

Has anybody any ideas I am stuck.
