Hi all,

I have a Motorola E770, which has POP3 email support. I'm trying to get my NTL email account set up on it. I have entered the relevent details, pop.ntlworld.com and smtp.ntlworld.com on the default ports (same settings as my outlook) but I can only recieve emails. When I try to send one, it says connecting to server, then comes back saying server unavailable.

Anybody have any experience getting this to work ?

Any help appreciated.

Rich.

To be able to send e-mails from your phone you shouldn´t use the same SMTP server that you have in your Outlook. You need to use the SMTP server from your phone operator, which they use for e-mail.

Contact your operator and find it out, change it in the phone and then you will be able to send e-mail from your phone ;-)

i am not aware of the particular ph but it probably needs to get an inbound authentication before it allows u to send mails... try looking around in the phone manual for it

Thanks for the replies. Teura, you were right, having searched some other forums I found what I needed. The smtp needs to be set as send.vodafone.net

Now all is working fine :)
