Im not sure which phone to get out of these two. I live a rural area and go to school in a city, so most of the time the 1900mhz band would be available to me. I have checked the t-mobile website and my home coverage of the 1900mhz signal, since t-mobile only operates off 1900mhz, and coverage was decent. I currently have a nokia 3620 and love it, but know it is time for an upgrade. The k750i autofocus is very appealing but im not sure if its worth the loss of the 850mhz band, especially when i live mostly in a city enviroment where this would not be a problem. If need be, i could carry around my nokia 3620 in the glovebox for emergencies if there was no 1900mhz coverage in an area. I also extensively used MtVoid's control freak for the nokia 3620, and notice that there is a comparable program available for the k750i, but did not notice anything for the d600. thanks for any help

they are both good phones but if camera quality is not an issue then id pick the d600 for the nicer screen and better video recording.

The camera in the K750 is better, but as much as it surprises me, I like the D600 better overall. This is the first Samsung phone that I've come across that seems to do pretty much everything right.

I'm quite surprised to hear that too.
I've overlooked samsung quite a lot when considering new phones, but on paper the D600 should be the better choice based on 1st poster's specifications.

IR is old techno, I haven't needed to use it on my phone in about a year!

Well, just because you don't need it, doesn't mean they won't...besides, doesn't hurt to have it, you know? I mean, the N80's gonna have IR:cool:

yup, that IS a problem... especially if you're trying to connect to older phones, laptops or PDA's, those that doesn't have bluetooth.
but IR is slow though, as compared to a data cable or bluetooth... it's also more unstable, just imagine moving it while it's paired?
so it has its pros and cons....
cheers!

Exactly...any ultra-multimedia phone should be backwards compatible:cool: hehe I'm basing this mentality off the N80:p

Ok, I see what you guys mean :p. But only thing I can agree with is connecting to older phones + PDA's. You she get a BT dongle if you gotta laptop! Not that pricey. So unless he has a second phone or PDA that they HAVE to transfer files directly from D600 to device using IR then it would really matter........but for the larger majority of people (well people I know) IR means nothing, lol.

I'd gladly sacrifice IR for all the extras on the d600.
You'll get used to not having it pretty quick.

if i am not mistaken , D600 uses micro SD right ?
micro SD dosent come in 1gb yet. plus , it tends to be equal to MSPD prices.
between the two , ild go for the K750i.

Know you just did great review on D600 (as well as K750i and W800i).
Wonder what your initial reaction, if any, to the Samsung SGH T809 that TMO just launched?

K750i wins it for me as im a avid radio listener and sadly the d600 doesnt have one so for me that loses the fight.

...while this is true, if or when you travel outside of your local area, you might need the 850Mhz band, particularly for roaming. T-Mobile is slowing buying some 850MHz licenses and have opened up 850MHz roaming throughout the country, so while it might not be immediately important, it could be down the line. I mostly own/use quad-band phones, but I'm a Cingular customer, so the 850Mhz band is paramount for me.
