How do I turn off Predictive Texting on a Nokia 3410

Well, that's it really. I've got a Nokia 3410 and I don't want predictive texting. I'm old and I don't like it when I have to edit my stuff. It takes too long. Help me turn it off. Now, please.

have you tried pressing the # key 3 times or until the "_abc" at the top of the screen changes to "abc".
that seems to work for me.
