I'm so excited about the phone now!! I didn't realize till today that it's basically the same size if not smaller than my 3650! How sad is that?? It's lacking a camera though...it's always fun to have one:rolleyes:

I guess it's still N80...lol

well u cant help the no camera bit 'cause of all the companies that dont allow their employees to use camera phones.. makes sense.. and anyways the cam on the 9500 sucked... wifi will be brilliant but what all protocols will it support i wonder??

It said g...

Well, they could offer camera and camera-less versions...I mean, honestly, at least on the "i" version! Besides, any camera is better than no camera...

Besides, any camera is better than no camera...

not really, if it had a crap camera then people would say "oh dont buy that phone, the camera is really crap".
by taking out the camera, its like telling everyone that its not an imaging phone and if you really want a cameraphone then look elsewhere.

hmmm thats probably y the 9300i came out.. coz the 9500 has the cam and it has wifi.. so they needed a model without cam but with wifi.. but i hate series80.. s60's way better.. and yeah it really doesnt make sense to get a phone with a sad ass cam when u have so many options..

Well, it's because when I was using my N-Gage as my primary phone, there were SO many picture perfect moments, but no device to capture the moments...

Yeah, the quality may not be the best, but hey, as long as it's captured, right? Besides, Nokia can fit a 1 or even 2MP camera in it no problem...doesn't have to be the N90 Carl-Zeiss one:cool:

im gonna have to disagree with u on this one because when i had my 7250i or my 3650 which was my only camera phones at the time, i took alotta pictures of nice cars down the street or anything that deserved a picture to be taken of, but u know wat ? i wasnt really happy because icouldnt see enough details of the picture cuz of the quality or not being able to zoom in, but now with my 6630 i snap pics and i upload them and print them and share them cuz they r worth it, so in my opinion if they gonna put a camera in a phone either make it worth it or dont put it at all

just my opinion

Exactly...they could've fit a 1MP camera module in it...

Nokia has a bad habit of "crippling" their phones by putting certain features in there different phone models while ommitting other features. - that makes it difficult to pinpoint a real "flagship" model. The Treo could have been the "perfect" smart phone if it had wifi and a larger memory. :) Check out SE with their upcoming P990 - 2mp cam, wifi, mp3 player - smartphone, touch screen although way smaller keypad, but its as close to a perfect phone as you can find. SE crammed as much features as they could into one model which makes it their undisputed flagship model.

Hopefully Nokia can do something similar. - I hope the next communicator can have a good camera, and a touch screen to go with their keypad. But I think the marketing guys won't allow it. :(

The N80 seems pretty close to being the flagship...as far as we know, it's got everything under one roof...

dodgedriver: the 9290 was the only phone I owned that someone came up to me and asked me what it was. It was cool for its time, though, I had it last year! THe screen was awesome, so I can only imagine what the 9300i will be like.

As for the camera - the 9290 had a detachable one - not to coothe, but its better than nothing. Maybe Nokia will offer something like that.

Then again, maybe the next carnation of the 930** will have one build in, or like someone said, offer another version WITH it in its current form (with the wifi)

Excluding the camera may have been a business decision to perhaps thwart portential customers to the 9500, for who knows what reason. Im sure Nokia oculd fit one in there, but but maybe they decided not to so they could get as much push with the 9500 as they could.

Im sure next time, when the 9500 is discontinued :-P the 9300* will have one!

My thoughts only.

true.. it doesnt make sense to sell two phones alongside each other when they both do the same thing while one is much smaller than the other. people will obviously go for the smaller one if it had exactly the same features.

Yeah I knew it was for that reason, but maybe while adding a camera to the 9300i, they could've upgraded the 9500 at the same time too to make it more appetizing lol
