What I wish I could buy for my w800i phone is a bluetooth adaptor to stick on the end of my headphones so that i can leave my phone at my desk and walk around and answer my phone remotely using the answer button on the stock headphones.

do you guys think this will exist someday?

You would just need a Bluetooth adapter for your W800i...

You could easily just get wireless headset...why bother with the stock headphones?

All 3 of you are missing the basic information we've known for some time.

1. The device NEEDS to support the Stereo Bluetooth profile, which the W800 doesn't.

and

2. You need a pair of hideously expensive stereo bluetooth headphone to use it with, like the pair mentioned above.

Tried my W800i in my car via a Parrott Evo3000... sound was appalling, can use a BT headset for mono use but not tried a stereo headset....it should support though as BT1.2....can anyone clarify ?

If not for £5 you can adapt it yourself without the long SE standard lead....

Again, no it doesn't have stereo Bluetooth. Would'nt matter what version of Bluetooth it is, it NEEDS to have the STEREO BLUETOOTH profile, which it doesn't.

And no before you ask you can't download it...

do you think a firmware update could possibly add that capability? just curious.

wow that's lame if stereo devices can't "dumb down" to mono..

No a firmware update won't add it.

And its not the fact it can't 'dumb down' to mono, its the fact that the Bluetooth profiles on regular phones only support audio transmission at GSM quality, not CD quality. In other words, the Bluetooth on standard phones is powerfull enough to transmit audio at standard 'voice call' quality, which we all know sounds nothing like when your listening to music through your earphones. It requires a completely different Bluetooth setup (hence the profile) and more than likely some kind of audio amplifier or chip in the phone itself, to transmit the extra audio data to make the music sound like it was coming from a pair of wired headphones, not like the crappy audio quality you get when your using it as a phone.

I hope that clears up any other questions about this thread. If I've gotten anything wrong, please state.
