02 is ok - Vodafone rules rest are cheapie personal networks in comparison....coverage may be better in rural areas but thats due to farmer coverage....
So reckon 02 will be changing to Telefonica anytime soon ?

Pfft!
I have an old sim that says bt cellnet (the crappest uncoolest network to have at that time, but the phone i wanted was with them) now O2...now it could change to Telefonica? nooo..what an ooberly crap name. O2 rocks - bring some chemistry into the phone world!
I like O2 because out of all the other networks, O2 has suited me the best. Theyve got great deals, normally they have the phone I want first and my family is on o2 so it makes calls cheap.
I recently stumbled accross their free sims offer that gives you £30 text/mms, potentially £50 free calls so yeah luvin them more!

No it won't be changing to Telefonica, they've agreed to keep the O2 branding in most of Europe, especially the UK, simply because its easier and less confusing.

BT cellnet was also a pants name so I didnt mind when they changed to O2.

As per news of late Vodafone have been in an aqusition frenzy - given the screw up takeover of Mannesman in hand gaining Orange (which is against competivity laws) they can't have that many countries left they can try to dominate ?

i have had a mobile of all network minus t-mobile in the UK however had a One2One (orwhatever they were called lol) and anyway here is my summary:
Where i live South London, suprises suprise i rarely have signal problems, however find that wherever i am if i am slightly below ground or on the gorund floor of somebuildings Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile lose signal, where as o2 remains quite good. i often find this very useful on the underground (especially the newer lines as i always seemed to have enough signal to txt).however i thought o2 customer care was awful. it was very expensive (although same price per minute as pthers such as orange took much longer to actualy get hold of a person. where as on orange its awesome, almost immediate person to person talk. i even had my phone stolen it was uninsured i phoned orange up and the sent me a new one 2 days later, and all i had to do was pay £20 and start insurance! i didnt even have to start my contract again (i was 4 months in).
however one thing about orange which i cant stand are they way they brand every phone with the orange logo, and the firmware they use. (they think the shody orange and grey ikons look good???, err hello orange they look crap!) same with vodafone, making everything red and white and branding their fones! shody again! also T-Mobile always seem to release mobiles in a limited edition colour which i usually find horrible lol.
so overall i would vote for Orange CC, o2 Signal and vodafone marketing and ideas. T-Mobile is just inbetween all of them.
