Just wondering if it's me, but that 6010 looks like it has an identical PCB to a 3510i and probably the same hardware too, in the same way the 7210 and 6610 did. Is this true?
Good review but clearly the phone isn't for any kind of enthusiast.

The entire review seems identical to as if the unit was a 3510i, so yes I have a sneaking suspicion this is Nokia's famous "lets play change the fascia" trick.

I always thought so too...actually, even my friends, who aren't phone freaks, were able to discover that! Then again, they own the 3595 (the US 3510i) and 6010...
imo, I liked the 3595 better than the 6010...the latter's look is too boring...I like the more youthful look of the 3595:D

I could've shifted that.
Reason I put it in the Nokia forum is because it was more about the Nokia phone hardware than the review itself.
I wanted to link it in from the main site, and because it is referenceing the hardware being reviewed I don't mind having it in here. I don't mind the threads in this forum talking about the hardware that is being reviewed instead of the review specifically.

I had the 3510i about 200 years ago! (slight exaggeration) why relaunch it? why not just make a better phone and sell it cheaper, not as if nokia need the money

Probably because they still had the hardware/PCBs kicking around. They have to keep stocks for when the things fail and people need refurbs. I believe it's probably the same score with the E398/ROKR because the release dates were so far apart just as here. If you have loose inventory then it's good to re-release it under a different guise for variety and to maintain interest.
With regards to the thread, it wasn't a complaint, just so long as no-one was knocking me for putting it in the wrong place. I didn't know you wanted to link it. Anyway both ways are fine!

That's what I meant, and also why I didn't mind it being moved. Thanks, you too!

Just wonderin'...why'd u review the 6010? That's like 300years old now :p. Aren't the faceplates between the 3595 and 6010 interchangeable? That's what I remember ...i think...
Michael did a few low-end reviews to mix it up a little. I will be posting some mid- to high- end reviews soon as well.

well i dont mind seeing some lower end reviews... the big spenders here keep forgetting prepaid and phones of lower cost are what runs 75 percent of the market worldwide...

Well, I mean, he could have reviewed the x495 or the v330 ;). Ah whatever, good review nonetheless :)

I'm probalby not the first to say this...but -
What's up with Nokia recycling their phone model numbers???
Is there any reason why they had to name this phone the 6010?
Confusing the issue more, is that some other prepaid networks offer the other (2002, I think) version of the phone as well.
Not really a big deal (and with pop-ports and other Nokia standards), the chargers and headsets for each respective version of the phone should be interchangeable; just seems like with all the other phone model numbers out there, they could have picked something else....
(maybe even use a 4XXX model number; since these may be north american market only models then perhaps there's no need to be superstitious about having the number "4" in the phone model number...

chargers of all nokias barring the new n70 have been the same... im still using the car charger i got when i had a nokia 3210. it works fine works well and am not bothering to upgrade it.
headsets is a different matter entirely nokia has chopped and changed on this front so many times its irritating. Thank god for bt for getting me out of that hell

Definitely...it was a nice change to have a simple device to read about. Not to say this phone's for me, but it's "relaxing":p not to have to read about major gripes cause we expect too much of it. With the lower standards of expectations, the phones seem better overall:D Still, I think the 6010 is WAY too big for its own good...whatever happened to 6100 and 6610 sized phones??
@DaninChina Since when has Nokia recycled model numbers? Enlighten me on any recycled model numbers:rolleyes:
