Hi, kind of strange question but here goes anyway. Having recently aquiring a K700i from a friend, when turning on the phone I am faced with a white screen and nothing else. I can still make and receive calls but can not see anything on the screen, as can i navigate around the menu's but of course do not know which I am navigating to. What I'm thinking may help is to do a 'master reset' but I don't know how I get to the menu, so basically what I need is for someone with a k700 to tell me where abouts master reset is so I can attempt to get to it and then reset my phone. thanks :)

May either be a firmware or more likely a hardware issue.

Was it like this before it was given to you?
Will it work on other SIM cards?

I doubt the Master Reset would solve it (but then again, maybe it would), but anyway here are the steps if you want to try.. Make sure the keypad is unlocked and that you press the back arrow key a few times to make sure it is in the main screen first:

1) Press joystick to get to menus.
2) Press '#' to goto Settings
3) Press '9' to goto Master Reset.
4) There are 2 choices,
- press '1' to 'Reset settings' (does not delete user data) OR
- press '2' to 'Reset all' (reset setting and WILL delete user data such as contacts, messages, pics, sounds etc in phone).

'Reset all' will be more thorough, but you will lose whatever's on the phone memory. Won't affect contacts on the SIM card.

5). Press the left dash (-) or joystick down to confirm your selection.
6). Phone will do the master reset and restart.

Hope this helps.
If it doesn't work, it'll have to be sent for repairs.

Theres a step missed out there...

5). Press the left dash (-) or joystick down to confirm your selection.
6). Phone will do the master reset and restart.

In between there it will ask you for the phone lock code, which is default at "12345" and then the left softkey.

so it should be:

5). Press the left softkey to agree to warning
6). Type in phone lock code (usually 12345) and press left softkey
7). Phone will do the master reset and restart.

So for a short keypress sequence:

Joystick in
#
9
2
Left softkey
12345 (or whatever the lock code is)
Left softkey

Also be aware that this is for an unbranded handset, and if the operator the phone has come from has fiddled with the menus, this may not be the correct sequence.
Personally it sounds like either corrupted software or water damage to me.
