Hello,

these forums are great, but a little confusing to a relative noob. I've just got a sony k750i and i want to flash it to a w800.

I've downloaded the firmware. is there any way i can flash it myself, either by fooling the sony update software or with some other software? not davinchis, as i'm too skint, miserly and it looks a bit complicated and won't detect my phone.

sorry for the confusing post, but i'd really like a nice simple step by step guide that relates directly to the k750!

well i've found out where the update service saves the downloaded firmware(c:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\software-data)

No, SEUS will only update with revisions to the firmware that is currently on the phone. DavinciTools is really not that hard to use, I have done it myself. Run the program, pick the firware you want to put on, put in your login information and flash - its really no more difficult then SEUS. There is a guy on the forums that sells the logs a bit cheaper too.

Hi brad.. what forums? here on mobileburn? who? im interested as the price on the davinci site is a bit too much right now for me. after all i just got a $445 USD phone.. :(

also does the SEUS update service let you BACKUP your current firmware? or does it just replace it right away?

also how fast does these update take? INternet service here are notorius for suddent disconnects.. and i'd hate to have internet service failure in the middle of updates...... which reminds me.. is it possible to do updates locally? like download and save files first?

Jacob_Stevenson on these forums can sell you logs, if I remember correctly. PM him.

Flashing with Davinci is only a couple of Mb download, every time you flash with SEUS its about 20Mb.
