A1101S.. never heard of it unless u mean the

A101 or A108 which was one of the early monochrome screen models of SE

i guess its some aged japan cdma phones were they still dont use sim cards. cos the naming of the model sounds jap-like.

Its a CDMA2000 1x handset made for KDDI in Japan, it was released in November of 2002 if I remember correctly.

So, since it is a handset made both for another phone standard (CDMA2000) and specific operator (KDDI in Japan), you cannot use this phone anywhere else then in Japan (at least certainly not in Europe!)

before buying a new phone, make sure its a GSM phone, in able to use it anywhere in the world (tri-band). ask the dealer 1st... til then enjoy :)

BTW, phones released in around 2002, 2001 of Japan, alot (tons of them) were FREE !! Telcos just give them away for users to sign up to their plans. I guess its when their 3G networks started to take off into intense competition. :)
