Hi, I'll admit I'm a complete n00b trying to get some help on a topic of particular concern to me.

See, I have a stepson who has visitation with his biological father. I want to get one of those kids cellular phones (firefly, tictalk) for him. The only problem is they use a special prepaid network. These networks don't cover Sault Sainte Marie, where his visitaion is. Both of them seem to be GSM phones that use a sim card though. I know there is a GSM provider (Cellular One) that has SIM card phones in Sault Ste. Marie. Would it be possible to modify the phone to use one of their sim cards?

Are there any other phone solutions for children's phones out there?

I read in a forum that you can buy the firefly @ Target (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-6/qid=/ref=sr_1_6/601-1906508-9972947?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B000A1GTRW), and that it was unlocked.

I suggest buying it there, and if your SIM won't work in it, return it.

Yeah, you can either buy it from Target or online at http://www.fireflymobile.com/

They advertise their own prepaid, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try the Cell One SIM card in there...
