New Sony Ericsson Sakura (walkman Swivel) With Pics. Its 4 Real!
While SonyEricsson finally announced the Pxx successor, the SonyEricsson P990, , there was no mention of the other handsets that we expected. Surprisingly, the Sakura (another code name like the Hermione for the P990) has surfaced in China while there was no press release for it in Europe / Asia / America. The Sakura is the new handset that caters to the "music phone" lineup that SonyEricsson has recently developed. The walkman series as it is also called gives preference to music lovers by having a built-in Mp3 player and shortcuts for the most basic music functions.
The Sakura will come with a 262,000 color TFT display and a 2 megapixel camera. It seems the Sakura will be one high end phone considering that there have been no trade offs anywhere. Even on the connectivity front, the cell phone has Infra red and Bluetooth. An expansion slot that supports the Memory Stick Duo stick, which Sonyericsson is so fond off will allow music lovers to further load up their cell phones.
The handset is assumed to be released in the East by December, making us wonder when it will be announced here. The music functions can even be controlled when the keypad is hidden since the navigational joystick doubles as shortcut keys. The Sakura will also be able to tune into FM radio stations. The handset should be priced around 700 USD.
