but a SE user since the CF 888, T-67, and sporting the T616. I just placed an order for a p910i (not knowing of this current release). Now I'm in a quandary. should I cancel the order and save up for the P990 and hope it comes out soon? or will I be thoroughly satisfied with p910i and still maintain my 1337z0rz status?
or maybe i need P practice before moving on to the p990?
please give me your honest opinions!

hi there, welcome to the mobileburn forums...
about your Q, well...... it depends entirely on you. How badly do you need to have a phone? If you can wait - then the p990 would be worth the wait, if not, then get the p910 asap. In my opinion, the p910 is so yesterday when it comes to technology... so if you're going to spend a bundle for a phone, might as well get the latest that you can afford, right?
cheers!

If the 3G functionality and improved specs aren't needed the P910i is still a great phone in all senses...

well alright, thanks for all of your informative but quirky responses! ok. so that p910 is coming in the mail, probably tomorrow. when i first saw this phone (only about 3 weeks ago HAHA), i was thinking "ok, this will top my co workers f*n treo 650", not knowing about the hermione/p990. now that the p990 will be soon available (which no one truly knows when and how much), it does makes me drool, yet makes me think if the technology increase will be that more beneficial for me, or is it simply asthetics! do i really need wifi? it's gonna look like cow dung on a small screen. how often will i need edge speed? is it really going to be super beneficial for me? i guess i really just have to weigh out my pro's & cons, i suppose. if there is something im missing, that can really sway my mind and cancel (or return) the on it's way p910, please share! thanks all!
by the way: the p990 is pimp-a-riffic... but in my opinion, that numerical flip design on the p910 looks much cleaner.

That is the version that supports the 850, 1800, and 1900Mhz GSM bands.
The P910i does 900, 1800, and 1900Mhz (and won't work on much of Cingular's network in the US as a result).

well that makes sense. just as long as i can use it here in california & asia, that's perfectly fine. i'm going to give this phone a shot, but will most likely pick up the p990 by Q3 of next year, if it's available here by then.
in the meantime, can anyone please assist me with the WAP settings, as well as any cool doodad downloads you've run across? Please PM or email me with the settings. this is a great phone... why was i missing out on so long!

well alright! i'm good to go... unfortunately, i had to do some web scouring to get these settings. i love my p910. my one qualm that is itching me to return, is the GPS system is not available here in the US! correct me if i'm wrong, but wayfinder is used only in Europe. anyone have any solutions where i can utilize a GPS receiver and view it on the P910? this may be the p910's only saving grace if i can't access GPS. Thanks SE users
