I only just noticied this handset was cancelled, I thought it looked quite good and had alright specs for a mid-range phone, did they want to leave way for the W550?
by looks of things theyve just rebranded the s600 as the w550.
The w550 like u said is a mid range handset for the youth market so by rebranding it with the walkman logo and features i suppose se think it'll have more appeal to their target audience!!!!??
well thats what i think

Yeah, I just noticed it still comes in different colours, it's basically exactly the same, don't think it has expandable memory, I'll be sticking with getting d750 or 6680.

No it has no expandable memory (just 256 MB on-board memory).

maybe twas jus overshadowed by the success of the K750? I mean, if you're going to buy a w600 or w550... why not just save and add a little more, then get a k750 or w800, right?
cheers!

Because it has the cool swivel factor, and different colours ;) but it doesn't state on the sony website w550 has expandable memory where as it does with w800.

s600 with 64mb is plain crap for 2005? It couldnt achieve the market capitalization i guess... the market is full of cheap k700s, 6230... and loads of cheap S60 phones. too crowded? and with a new price tag, S600 probably couldnt compete with the old schools?
