Good phone, from all reports. Every feature you could really need, and for a reasonable price. I think there's a review on the main page, actually... somewhere :)

the t610 does not have "every feature you could really need" and that subject is NOT open for debate

it lacks speaker phone and myself and millions of people all over the world would NEVER buy a phone in 2003 that doesnt supports such a basic function

if its an important function or not is individual and therefore NOT interesting to argue here, but it is a fact(sadly) that its not there

and i almost forgot.. the display works really excellent in the sun!!!

*irony*

Fiddle with different themes & the contrast settings & the screen is the ok.
Speaker phone is not used by anyone I know personally, including myself, so yea, who gives a f.

It's an awesome phone.

I find the screen useless outside no matter how much I fiddle with it. Lucky for me, voice commands work great.

In the car it's totally acceptable, and I'm the last person you'll find hanging out at the beach without whining about it, so YMMV.

I like the T610 fine, I'm using it in the US here with little difficulty but other mobiles perform better on T-Mobile's GSM 1900 network. (Nokia 6310i and 3650 spank the T610 in every way regarding radio reception)

I have read heaps about people unhappy with it, I myself have great settings & great eyes cause its fine for me.
The reception is probably the only thing that could be better, although im yet to see a phone work perfectly in this area to begin with!!

I have a question.

Call me crazy - every single pair of eyeglasses I wear (I'm kind of a nut for eyeglasses) has an anti-reflective coating on them.

I wonder if that is somehow contributing to this issue for me or anyone else. I should check it out sans-glasses and see if its better.

(But it's 23:40 right now so it'll have to wait ;))

The screen is very bad when you use the darker themes such as Magma. I find it is alright when using a light theme (like classic).

Yeah great phone overall but, let's not try to kid ourselves here, the screen is shocking in direct light, end of story. Apparently plenty of colour screens are so maybe this is a technology that we'll look back in a years time and say "remember those screens in 2003, how bad were they!" I really like the look of these new SE phones, clamshell design gets my vote, pain in the arse keeping the T610 screen clean! My only dilemma is these 12 month contracts, long time to commit in todays changing market!

very accurate prediction; 2003 screens do indeed now look crap

again correct; if you went for the t610 when you were talking about it, you'd have missed the launch of the 6230, k700, 7610 and s700.
that'd be no good, would it?
