We managed to get some quality time in the old photo studio with Motorola's super-slim SLVR handset. With its trim waistline, memory card slot, and stereo music capabilities, it's sure to win some hearts.

This is (possibly) going to be my next phone; wierd as I was wanting something with a megapixel camera, Symbian OS, but this does all the basics that I want, and finally has a decent address book.

In the current (UK) carphonewarehouse catalogue, they list the L7 as having a megapixel camera though, and all the pics/reviews go straight against that.

This is the perfect motorola candybar.

Agreed, but will take it one step further - it could be the best candybar, at least for me. If Moto add iTunes support to it, then it jumps to another level.

I can't believe that Moto have finally put in a proper address book as well, that was one of the main things that was possibly stopping me from going back to Moto.

Perfect candybar ever? lol..

Moto should stick with their flips..there's too much competition in the candybar world for moto.

I have never been a fan of the Moto UI. Otherwise I think this phone is a bit of a winner. I was worried that it was going to feel flimsy, but it is solid as a rock.

Nokia are trying to do flip phones now, and this is definitely the slickest looking of candybars - easily (imho) looks as good as the 8800, and is probably a more usable phone. And much more sensibly priced.

Yahuh, the newer moto's seem to be very sturdy even though their design would imply fragility.

Slickest maybe to the touch, but I think there have been more visually provocative candybar designs than this.

It is however very simple, yet sophisticated.

This is probably the thinnest manufacturers could make phones before they become uncomfortable to hold

I dont like the top of the phone, it reminds me of the shape of the old moto C650. ( Just the top)

The pre-production model that we had included a VGA camera.

Will this phone be one of Moto's EDGE-less victims?

Yes, it will lack EDGE.

And it has a VGA camera. That probably won't change.

weird......... it doesnt appeal to me much..... something so slim...... and yet the detailing of the design is a bit loud...... lack the slimpicity of slim stuffs......... RZR's good cos all the fancy styling and detailing were hidden by the flip..... this....... slvr thingy.... not much to my liking.

Outside of Vertu or Mobiado, I don't think I've seen any candybars that are truly provocative, which ones are you thinking of?

I do figure that phones can go a little thinner - basically, think of something like the iPod Nano, but with an RF interface, its possible, and the Nano is half the thickness of the SLVR.

its not just about the materials their made out of, or whether they look expensive...its the shape, and form...which many other candybars have done a much better job of.

The nano can go super thin because the input device is different. Try "texting" with a sheet of paper cut to the area of a slvr..its uncomfy..but running your finger over it is easy.

Hi All,

Not sure if I should post this as a separate thread or not but it seems to fit in here. I got to play around with a SLVR today and decided to take some perspective shots. I always feel like the ppictures you always see on all the phone sites never really capture what the handset really loos like. I know the first time I saw a P207 i was amazed because all of the pictures i had seen online up to that point made it look huge. Anyway...here's the link to the SLVR pics. If no one minds I'll post my own review of the phone once I get some more quality time with it.

P.S. all of the pics were taken with a Nokia 6620 :D

I had the chance to play with one this weeked for a while. Very solid, though a bit heavy for its size, in my opinion. Not that it was heavier than my current phone.. but still a nice solid phone. I like this better than the razr. Though the itunes cant do video - the moto os can, I believe - which is nice. Is itunes the default player and can it be changed to something that offers more music than 100 song limit?

Regardless, its a nice phone. Moto does it again.
