Nokia 6820a SIM card not supported sob!

:cool: Heya, Pls, pls could someone help me?

I just got given my dads old phone, a Nokia 6820a and proudly moved my Vodafone pay-as-you-go sim card across from my old brick. I excitedly turned the phone on ...... and got the message 'Sim card not supported' :eek:

Is there something I can do :confused: Some magic unlock code or spell :p

You're gonna need to unlock it...which you can do with the Unlock Resources thread at the top of the Nokia forum.

I would suggest, however, to get it reflashed and unlocked by a professional so you can kill two birds with one stone...that way you can also get rid of the stiffling Vodafone branding:rolleyes:

Ok first I should say sorry for posting here cos I really didn’t understand when I wrote first time what an ‘unlock’ code was duh. :rolleyes:
Anyway … I checked out how much it would cost to have the phone unlocked etc by the local guy and it was £20.00. So after reading loads of the this forum, checking the bank balance and reading your unlock links I thought 'don’t risk doing this yourself stupid blonde girl, phone the Dial-A-Code instant unlocking service' ahemmm:

Soooooooo at a cost of £5.00+. I punched in all the info: model, network it’s locked to, IMEI – I jumped through all the hoops – got the unlock code and …. (drum roll) IT DOESN’T WORK!!!! I immediately mailed them and a day and a half later I still haven’t got a code – Feeling a tad ripped off and with no comeback – I guess I’m off to visit the local guy to spend a further £20.00. :mad:
