I don't remember hearing anything about a 850Mhz X70.

that's from panasonic's website... checkout the frequencies

there are supposed to be 2 versions of the x70.. 850/1800/1900 and the currently seen 900/1800/1900 version.

I would really prefer to get the 850MHz version as I live in the US.

Ah yeah, I remember that now. Another poor choice of frequencies like the T616. Better than dual 850/1900, but only barely.

still better than just 900/1800/1900 if you never leave NA.
