I really need to get a phone by Oct coz I'm going back to the Philippines and I don't want to buy a phone there. :p Thanks in advance!

hi there,
the philippines aint actually that bad as a 'phone market' - most of the phones there can be had for less the price of similar phones in other comparable countries. And you'd get all the "services" you'd ever want - plus a wide selection of original and bootleg parts.
anyway... the best selling point of the n91 would be that 4GB harddrive it has. Given that both phones, can play sounds equally on stereo, both has a 3.5mm jack, and both supports most audio formats, and both has comparable RF performances... I'd say they're very similar indeed when it comes to music.
so the question you'd ask youself is... do you have a need for a smartphone? Do you have a need for WiFi, or 3G, or EDGE? If yes, then N91 it is... if the answer is no.... then go for w800.
(granted of course that you can WAIT for the N91 to come out... coz if not, then go for the w800, the N91 is a little bit late now)
cheers!

yeah, i think phones are relatively cheaper in the philippines.
the only place i know which sells phones cheaper than here is in hong kong.

green archer, I think greenhills is more competitive in pricing now than in HK. K750 cost around 3680 HKD as SRP from SE, from the "black market", you can get it for around 2800 HKD, roughly around 21000 PHP. In greenhills, you can get it for ~20000 PHP. W800i is being sold in HK for 3780 the cheapest, around 26500 PHP, but in greenhills, cheapest is ~ 25000 PHP. But not sure about thew warranty though in greenhills :D

I don't understand why you don't wanna buy it in the Philippines...they've got such an awesome market for them, and of course I would think it's cheaper! Accessories are AWESOME over there!

UGH I miss the accessories over there...like the ones that try to copy OEM. Cheap as heck, but still in general high quality. Faceplates SUCK in the US...

Yup, its amazing they have almost eeeeeeeverything, at real dirt cheap prices!
I was shocked when I bought my first Fils cover because ones ive been buying previously (orig were like £20-30) and these were like under £1.
I luv the fascias that make ur phone look like another!
Fascia's here are crap too. They're either damn ugly or boring monotone colours.

Ok, here's the deal. I know for a fact that its cheaper to buy a phone back home but the deal is my boyfriend wants to buy me a phone here and if a buy a phone back home I have to pay it on my own money. So you guys see my dilema. I really want to wait for the N91 coz I really love nokia phones but I just have to settle buying W800i.
Last Question: I can insert a 2gb memory card in W800 ryt?
Well, Thanks guys! I really have to start thinking things through. You really helped alot. Thanks again.

One thing though, If ur desparate for the n91 and dont want to pay with your own money, get your boyfriend to buy the most expensive phone here and then sell it. :D lol.
W800i IS A great alternative though. You WILL get used to S.E. U.I.:)

We are all a very carefull / picky consumer when it comes to buying new stuffs. From my basis SE W800i has its own special side, it has alot of memory hard drive to save your favourite music, datas and so. But put in mind that nokia 91 have 4 GB memory (3000 music) enough to make your mind groovying for a couple of days. Nokia 91 is more in music and business tools too (windows Excel, adobe and other special applications...), you can download more applications / data for your phone to meet your demands. The question now, can you download more applications to SE W800i? it can only download mp3s and other music format. If i where you get Nokia. To make the selection easier, make sure to open two different windows to compare this two new devices that you have in mind. Take your time... enjoy your new toy... hit me back, so i know which toy you got... :)

Don't you mean "flash drive" instead of "hard drive" for the W800i?
In any case, if just a phone suits you with awesome camera and proven music capabilities, go for the W800i. But if you want additional functionality and capability from a phone, wait for the N91, or even go for the N90...

the SE w800i seems to be your best option for now.If insider sources are right the rumor is that it wont be AVAILABLE till next year so go ahead and get the w800i.If you still want nokia/symbian then go in for the 6630 and buy a couple of 512mb cards ;)

Or get an N-Gage and get a 2MB card:p Seems to be the only respectable MP3 S60 phone before the DV RS-MMC era...oh, and the 6620:D

based on my talk with key nokia officials in india.. who i deal with every week.
their take on it is a targetted 32000 indian rs or there abouts. with a mid nov release as that is prime festival season here and people really go all out.
so rolling eyes aside...

If it does come out in Nov in India I surely will consider it!
And if the N91 is to hit the Indian market in Nov I suppose the N70 too would be available... Any idea what it might be priced at?

marketing the W800 as a music phone or walkman is such a joke! the phone is a K750 with a different look and an offline mode. I dont see how this phone does what phones like the 6630 or 6630 can't do. in my opinion i'd go for a 6630 or 6680 instead. the only catch is that DV RSMMC is only available in 512MB so far(1GB soon). i tested the playback on MP3s through headphones on my 6680 and K750 and they are the same, but if i had the choice to get one i'd go for 6680.
now the N90 is a real music phone because it has the capacity of a mini iPod!

I agree with you marwan, on this one.
I do own a 6630 n I have been too happy with the music capabilities of this phone. As for ur choice I would suggest the 6630 as there is not much to choose between the 6630 and the 6680. The only difference being the more colors on the 6680 and the flash against a slightly better speed on the 6630 with a lower price.
Which headphones do you use for the w800 Marwan? At least you get a decent choice, you also get a 512mb card in the package. Sure, it's mostly about the marketing, but it is more than just the k750

i used the K750 not the W800. i hear they both have the same sound quality(lack volume though). I have a 1GB MSpd in my K750, so i don't car for the 512MB in the W800. the headphones in the W800 are a plus for sure, but then again i have a 40GB iPod with the best Sony headphones(they look exactly like the W800 ones, only they're white to match my iPod)
again, the W800 is a K750 with a different cover and an offline mode.

the w800 headsets looks like a sony mdr-ex71, wonder if it is indeed the same??? but if you guys are saying that there aint much difference in the sound quality of the w800 to the 6630, then i supposed the headset is not an ex71 at all... it could have been an added feature... the 71 makes my 6230 and ipod really sounds sooo much betah!
