hi,

i just recently got my nokia 6230i and i am very pleased with it, but i went and got a 256 mmc card for it that worked fine untill i tried using it as a mass storage device. i put all the ringtones, pictures videos etc onto the memory card fine, then when i took out the data cable to check if the things were on my memory card, it said card not formated, so i formated the card and then it would do the same when plugged into the computer. after i had tried again formating it though the phone if i went of the memory card menu and went on a different memu and then went back to the memory card if had all these werid files which i couldn't delete. was is wroung? or what can i do to fix it?

perhaps it has become corrupt.

Have you tried formatting it using a card reader for a pc..?
And then format on your phone.

These files you cannot delete, do you remember what they are?
Also, what function of your phone is it impeding?

Perhaps these wierd files are meant to be there.

i do not have a card reader(but i will proberly have to get one now)
but when i connect the phone to the pc it says "card not formated" so i format it, and then it does the same on the phone.

the files are all wierd names, with all the letters mixed up with symbols, and if there is a folder that will contain loads of those files as well.

i can still put stuff on the memory card but when i go off the menu and go back on the meory card again it says it needs formatting.

if it is currupt is there any way to fix it?

format it.. using fat ... in the pc and it will work fine or format it using the phone itself
the files are corrupted
