Hi, just wondering if anyone could let me know what their thoughts are on what smartphone is currently the best available. I'm currently using the Microsoft OS on SPV, and while it's very good I do have gripes.
Treo 600 is my current favourite for upgrade as it doesn't seem to compromise too much on PDA functionality. I'm not going to be upgrading for a few months yet but I want cheap not latest, so I'll prob go for something that's already out ;)
Any (preferably balanced) opinions?

The Treo is great if the 160x160 display and lack of Bluetooth aren't a concern. Though I doubt you will find those "cheap" any time soon.

Treo 600 is only £100 over here atm (with a contract), so I'd expect to be able to pick it up for ~£0-£50 in a few months, although prices can go up as well as down ;)

I'll reckon one of the best smartphone device available currently is the O2 XDA II, which have just been released. Basically a Pocket PC Phone using Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003.
It has a camera, which support also video taking, MMS, bluetooth connectivity with audio support as well, SDIO slot for SD / MMC cards, and so on.. so what more can you want in such a feature packed up device? =)
Another one that is pretty good is the O2 XPhone, which review of it could be found at http://www.imobile.com.au/ so have a read and decide what you wanted!
Hi there Pat,
I was informed that the battery life is rather poor with the O2 XDA II.Can you confirm this please.
Thank you,
Cheers
Take a look at O2 XPhone, review at http://www.imobile.com.au/PhoneReviews
Edit: sorry, notice that PatGoh has already list the phone and the review... :)

well, basically because the XDA II is a Pocket PC as well as a phone with a LARGE display, which will take quite abit of power to turn it up, you could still squeeze around a day or two moderate usage with it, but its always very very safe to plug it back into the cradle to charge everytime you are in the office or home, whenever you have the chance. If the phone ever happens to be totally battery dead then you would lose ALL your data on it. However, this has never happen to me before, just have to use your device wisely. The XDA II has also have improved battery talk and standby time on it compare to the XDA I and it has twice the power as well =)
