I don't know if anyone can help but I have looked at the free software that you can get for unlocking and had 100% success so far with all nokia phones tried.

But now I have just received a new 6820A and am not sure this model is covered on the codes I have available. I have already tried code 1 and 7 and niether worked.

Sorry to keep pestering you, but unfortunately I got the "code error" response for both of those. I switched the phone off, removed SIM, powered-on and waited for the "insert SIM" prompt, but had no joy with it. I've double checked the IMEI and it's correct. Any ideas?

Ok, I went through the codes and none worked. On the last code the phone gave me "Cannot undo restriction." This sounds bad. So I return to the post site and see the other code I assume was for me saying sorry about the wrong code. Oh well. I hope this did not botch things up.

Anyway, when I placed my T-Mobile card in and gave it my pin it says "Phone Restricted" [you probably already know of this] and has the undo option. This will ask, "Enter restriction code."

Is there any way to use this phone for T-Mobile now? Is there a restriction code that will allow me to use this phone?

you would need a data cable and a flashing programe such as rolis this would rewrite the phones memory its basicaly reformating it like a computer.

ps
word of warning to others never try an unlock codes more than three times the fith time and it fails and thats it. i would go for hardware reset i dont know if the moderator would agree with me.

Found this on another site is it true or ????

The Crux code generator (NokiaFree's is based around this) supports the 6630 unlocking (i.e. it's a listed model). You might want to try that - though it suggests that the 6630 is a standard V2 ASIC type 5 phone, which I doubt, considering all the 6620s and 7610s needed different codes. When it asks for the box serial, I discovered that for the latest generation 7600s (which used to work on code generators) used the ASIC type 6 box serial. I will have a look for you.

As of now there is no way of unlocking the Nokia 6630, the codes given to us by Dai5133 are wrong and do not work, why he is claming that he can unlock 6630s I dont know, he is just using normal nokia DCT4 calculator that can be found everywhere.

The Crux code generator (NokiaFree's is based around this) supports the 6630 unlocking (i.e. it's a listed model). You might want to try that - though it suggests that the 6630 is a standard V2 ASIC type 5 phone, which I doubt, considering all the 6620s and 7610s needed different codes. When it asks for the box serial, I discovered that for the latest generation 7600s (which used to work on code generators) used the ASIC type 6 box serial. I will have a look for you.

hi there got a new nokia 6230 on tmobile (uk) imei # 355038003075299,
tried various unlocking software its doesnt work tho. am i supposed to call tmaobile up and ask them to register the phone first? since i havent used it at all b4 i unlock it or attempt to unlock it?

and when i enter in the unlocking code do i have to put in a sim card from a different network or do i have no sim cards at all in the phone? any help greatly appreciated. :)

Yes, it is true you only get 5 remote unlock attempts - after that, it won't unlock even with the right code - you will just get a 'cannot undo restriction error'.

I obtained unlock codes for my Nokia 6620 from a paid service, but had no luck with these codes:

Sorry, i forgot to ask what happens if you type wrong codes too many times ?
I already tried some codes from other programs included in "Universal Simlock Remover" which did not work. I tried a total of 4 times: 2 for lock number 7, 1 for lock number 1 and 1 for lock number 4.
