Thanks cdover. Thats the same codes my smartdct4cal program chucked out and 7 and 1 didn't work. I think I will pay the jolly nice man down the wednesday market to unlock it for me at the cost of £5. Cheers for the codes anyway.

Hey. The 3100 is DCT4, if it was DCT3 I'll still be able to unlock it, so also bring a DCT3 phone if you have one!

Well first of all I'd like to apologise for being rude, so sorry. Anyway, um, I don't know of any code to check if it's locked, I guess the only way is to put in a sim from Singtel or Starhub. Anyway cya

Hey. If the codes don't work, and they are entered correctly, then that pretty much means the phone is already unlocked :).

So you've tried the first code? That one should work...

Just enter the code and that's it - finished!

[edit] Oh. If 5 codes didn't work then you need to buy a Nokia Cable thingy to unlock it. The easiest thing to do is to bring it to a shop and they'll do it for you. With a price ofcourse.

It doesn't work? Oh no! Well make sure that the codes are entered correctly, and that you gave me the CORRECT IMEI, and are you sure it's locked to ATT?

Rogers ATT? The Canadian one? Um, I don't think so, they've got totally different MCC+MNC numbers...I really don't know what to do now - so sorry man. I'm guessing AT&T has purposely changed their MNC numbers for different IMEIs so that it's harder to unlock from them. Sorry man -_-". I tried...

Hey. Um, no, ATM I cannot unlock a 6230. Unlocking an SE is a little more complicated so I don't think there will be one of these for SE phones. An IMEI is a unique number given to every phone. Key in *#06# on your phone to view it.

Out of interest, what tool are you using to generate these codes? Initially, I thought you were using Unlock Codes Calculator v2.1 by Crux, but since that is capable of generating 6230 codes, it seems that you are not.

Hello ozziegn, just cracked how you find the unlock codes, with out any software. Hahah, which goes to show how much spare time I have. Here's how I found out:

This is an unlock code you gave: #pw+898531415522025+1#
This is another unlock code, however it is asic 2: #pw+887021415522025+1#

The only differences between the numbers are:

2nd number: +1
3rd number: +1
4th number: +5
5th number: +1

And the rest are the same. :).

Um, the 6230 is Asic 6, and as Deviant stated, Asic 6 cals aren't out yet. However I found one but I don't know if it'll work yea? If you want to risk it here they are:

Hey Deviant :). Um, the link was posted here (http://www.gsmschwantz.com/zip/Crux...r_v21_Setup.zip (password: gsmztnawhcs)) and I thought to try it out. It has an option for Asic 6, however I'm a bit confused. There's another drop box where you choose between v1 and v2 codes etc. but 'asic 6' is included in that drop box as well. Weird, which means one can choose Asic 2, and then choose Asic 6 at the same time. I don't get it. Oh well...

2 tries left? But I only gave you two...dammit. Well those codes *should* work, but I'm guessing this is the confusing bit whether to use v1 of v2 codes (so far v2 has always worked...:S ) You could try the v1 codes:

Hey. You can get a cable and then unlock it from there. Easiest way most likely is to go into a mobile shop and they should do it for you...

Where would I get the software??? Is it easily accessible? These people in the US don't know the slightest thing about what we're doing here, especially where I live (Missouri). So everything I have to learn by myself. I'm willing to learn. I also have someone else who also has a 6610 that needs to be unlocked. More importantly, I'll be getting a 6620 and I want to have a good backup plan if the codes generated here don't work.

Some USB cables are ok, because some of them have USB-to-serial bridges within them so they are (at the end of the day) just identified to the computer program as serial cables. Depends on the phone you are using it with as well, if it's your 6610, the USB DKU-2 won't do it. You'll probably need a DKU-5 or something else...

Yes, like all Symbian phones (bar the 7610 it seems but I haven't handled one yet) is ASIC type 5 and you should *always* use V2 codes for generation - because to-date, V2 codes aren't barred yet, and other code types aren't fully tested.

Enter code 7 then leave it if it doesn't work and report back here so I know how you got on.

When I enter code 7 (the last) I gives me a wrong code message.

Tell me the *exact* message it displays. If it still refuses, then you have given me some wrong details (either IMEI or MCC-MNC [network]).

I followed the instructions stated in the start post..
At point 7, I entered the last of the 7 codes you gave me...
Point 9 was in this case 7.
Then the message came...
I will try this again if you verify to me the procedure is correct.
I will then exactly give you the error msg.

'FOUTE CODE'

I have checked the IMEI and MCC-MNC and I am using the exact ones you gave so it's nothing my end. Check again I suppose.

I did this;

Power off phone and REMOVE SIM
Power phone back on without sim
Push #
Push * key 3 times (you will see p)
Push * key 4 times (you will see w)
Push * key 2 times (you will see a +)
entered: 497847626570641
Push the * ket 2 times (you will see +)
entered: 7
Push #

Is this not correct then?
I did the procedure above 2 times. Both times the error occured.

I was trying to work out what these 'point' things you were going on about were. Just so long as the code is entered EXACTLY as I gave it to you and appears the same on the screen - as soon as you enter the final #, it should do something - normally restart itself. Maybe try and PM cdover, see if he can help you, I've never had this problem before. I take it VodafoneNL is Vodafone Netherlands (Libertel)?

Shrugs, DCT4 cals cal 7 codes, which I believe each one does something different. DCT3 are usually 1-2. The cals to unlock the 6620 only generate one which I don't know why...

Hello -

I just received a Nokia 6820. I was told it was unlocked, but doesn't seem to work with my T-Mobile USA SIM card (it is an AT&T Wireless USA phone).

When I insert my T-Mobile USA SIM card, it give the message:
Phone Restricted
With a choice to undo. When I click undo, it wants a restriction code, which I don't have. Any idea what I'd use for the restriction code? Or...

Will the instructions here allow me to unlock (or possibly re-unlock) the phone?

Notice that everyone else has supplied their old network provider - without it, you can't expect it to be unlocked (unless you have a cable and software).
