Hey. IMEI is the serial number of a phone, all of them unique. You can check what's your IMEI by keying *#06#. It's good to remember this number because if you were to lose your phone, some operators have the option to be able to block anyone from using the phone if you give them the IMEI. Benefits of unlocking a phone are that you can use the phone with any sim card. (This is only useful is your phone is locked...)

Hey. Ayoh, sorry don't know how to unlock them. If your friend got it unlocked, then yes, it can be used with other networks (like att) :).

? Huh. I think I can unlock them, The 6230 is definately unlockable. Don't see why it is different to other series 40 phones, so I guess its still the same :).

Hey. Oh. Well. Er. If they havnt changed the MNC then those codes are definately right. Unless ofcourse Nokia has done something to their phones now...hmmm. Anyway, well you're right, type 5 is for Symbian phones. I've only ever used one v1 codes, and I didn't even know if it worked. Used it to unlock a 6820...which was weird because I've unlocked many 6820s using v2 codes....oh well.

I was a little hesitant on trying additional codes, but you are right, those should be the right ones. There is probably one thing missing from the picture. I finally took it to a "GSM shop" and they unlocked it (without cables, using just codes) Unfortunately I do not know what code they used. So you are right again, it is unlockable.

Oh. Weird. Weird. Er, well make sure that the IMEI is correct, and then make sure your phone IS the 5100 (:D) and well thats it. It could be that o2 have changed their MNC but that's extremely unlikely.

Oh crap. Well if you enter the wrong code 5 times then it cannot be unlocked with codes alone, but with cheap cables you can get at all good phone and general electric stores. :( really sorry. Those codes are definately correct if:
1) the IMEI is correct
2) T-mobile hasn't changed their MNC code
3) The UK hasn't changed their MCC code
4) Your phone IS the 6100

Is it possible to unlock a new Nokia 3200 on O2? I tried unlocking a friend's Nokia 6600 (the smartphone), and the codes I got from my code generator didn't work (they've worked previously for 5210, 3410, 7250), so I'm guessing the software probably don't work with the newer phones being released now.

I don't wanna buy the Nokia 3200 on O2 (much cheaper on O2 from my local shop/s), only to find that I can't unlock it (to use on T-Mobile). Thanks guys!

Hey. Yup, it's possible to unlock the 3200. The codes may not have worked for the 6600 because the 6600 is ASIC 5, not like the 5210, 7250 which are ASIC 2.

Yeah, what's the deal with these 6230s? Do they have a different ASIC type like the 7600 did or something?

Yup, can be unlocked, though you need a cal that can cal ASIC7 codes. Most cals cant.

Folks, just curious about one thing...it doesnt bother me, but still l wonder why:

My 3100 was provider locked to Vodafone, thanks to u guys l can choose another provider due to my old simcard. But when l call the support at Comviq to activate some mms functions as sending/receiving pics or melodies, they say ( comviq ) that the user/client (me) is inactive or isnt connected to their network. Still l can makes calls and send sms.

Any ideas guys what this is all about? And lf l am lucky l won't have to pay the bills from my calls...*hehe*

How to use:

Remove SIM Card and turn phone on.
Enter codes in to main screen.
You should always try code 7 and 1 first.
To get the 'p' push your '*' key 3 times, the 'w' is the '*' pushed 4 times.

Don't forget to remove SIM-card, when entering codes!
After entering unlock code phone will display:
"SIM restriction off" - when lock has been successfully removed;
"Code error" - when entered unlock code is wrong;
"Can't undo restriction" - when you've tried to enter wrong codes too many times;

The handset is ASIC type 7 hence 'normal' calculators don't work on it. You may have used too many tries now anyway - so just see how it goes. Anyway unlocking a '3' 7600 is one thing, but it keeps trying to lock onto a WCDMA (3G) signal so you may find yourself dropping GSM network coverage a lot.

You can't do this yet, I'm still waiting on my 6230 to be unlocked too (it has ASIC type 6 - which the programs can't do yet). It's ironic seeing as I've unlocked about 100 phones to date (over the years) and I can't unlock my own...

Haha. That's really nothing to do with unlocking a 6230. It's just codes to show how it is unlocked, the software its running on, the warranty, etc etc.

Me neither :). Got one of my softwares from here (http://www.unlockme.co.uk/dct4free.html) and er well yea. This software is pretty easy to use, except does not unlock some phones (like the 7600 + DCT3 phones). So I've got another software to unlock those, and I can't seem to find the web add, sorry.

Hey. Er no, and no. Sorry, the 6230 is asic 6 (I believe) and I am only able to unlock DCT4 asic 2,5, and 7.
